I'm glad there are still some good deals in Ontario
I hear you there. They're getting few and far between but they're still around. There was another black 7th gen in the parking lot as well as a '78 Bronco with the Free Wheeling stripes but I didn't manage to get a pic as we were driving by.
Well I bought another one last night. She's an '81 F150 2wd, original 302 with a C6. It's rough, box is pretty well pooched and most of the panels have dents. But it's got a mint rad saddle and the cab is in great shape with no patches. I think it'll be a good donor truck.
I was surprised it didn't have the swiss cheese frame, I thought all 80-81 half tons and some '82s had it. Must have been optional? Anybody that has info on these I'm curious.
Thanks for the welcome Gigger! The rusty lower panels can be dealt with, I have a plasma cutter and I am not afraid to use it. Kidding!!! Not about having a plasma cutter, but about using it instead of pneumatic shears and a wire feed.
But that is later - first I have to pull the old gal over the pit to look underneath (frame is good) just to check lines, brakes, exhaust. I think the engine was run hot and front engine seal is leaking. Will shoot notions / questions on what to do about that on a more appropriate thread. Anyway, glad to be here!
