Hi Guys... I just installed an ez down on my 2011 F250 and the shock is hitting the rubber stop on the truck that the tail gate hits. Anyone else had this issue. I removed the stop and works fine, but instructions say nothing about needed to do this....
I need to invest in one of these. Some body at work keeps playin a prank on me by slighty openin my tailgate and when i drive off it falls down. Startin to make me mad, wished i knew who was doin it. I think this would blow their mind haha. Best place to pick one up?

Why don't you lock it???????
CRAP - I did it again .... Double post *&%&%&^%^&%
After three years of pulling the latch on a Tundra and letting the tailgate drop, I've nearly hurt myself a couple of times with the Ford SD tailgate when forgetting that it will free fall. I didn't know an option existed for an add-on spring assist until now. I'll be checking into buying one before I do break the camera or cables or the stripper pole....
Installed mine in 10 mins. Works just like the one on my old Tundra. Love when I am carrying something heavy out to the truck. I don't have to put it down. Just pull the latch and let it "drop". Ironically I get a lot of comments about how cool it is when people see me do it. Not used to seeing it on Fords I guess.

Ha! I had a Tundra before my 350 and I open the tailgate and let it slam almost every time without thinking about it at all. It is was a great feature of the Tundra. Searching for the best price on the EZ-Down now.

Did you have any issues with the shock hitting the rubber stop on the truck? I had to remove mine to get the tail gate to close...
My 2005 tailgate has a lock. Why wouldnt yours? I keep mine locked because that way my tailgate is still there when i want it to be. I was thinking an easy down and power unlock on the astrostart remote a cool addition, just havnt got round to it. I have. Agricover roll up tonneau, works great, secure, out a site and mind.
