I call for a total makeover, even though Dave is looking towards 70, he da man and can pull it off.

I think this is a perfect project not to swap in I-beams from a 73-79 donor for disc brakes.

Dave reported here about 2 months ago that he received the left foot of fellowship at Slick60s. He also mentioned something about a new site. I don't visit the Slick site so much so just wondering.

John,
Not sure about the new site garbz mentioned. I had read about das boot. I guess there are guys here mad at guys there and visa versa. I know that between both sites I can get just about anything answered I need. I also know that the longer the association the better chance to run up against other opinions that may not jive with ones own. I like good build threads

I have been around Slick60s before it was Slick60s, before MSN, Yahoo, back to Excite and only about a dozen of us.

Just kinda stuck here.

Dave & I go back a long ways.

The build theme is that some good ol boys built the truck in the mid sixties. All you had was a stick welder or gas. MIG was not quite a backyard thing.

Hence there would have been booger welds and grapes.

When undertaking a build like this it has to have all the bad and good....

I received the new 64 cab last night. Man is it cherry.

I will be taking a different approach to installing the big window in to the cab than what has been done on other ones. We will see if i can pull it off.

I've seen this cab and it is as nice as it looks in the pics.
BIll W, let me know when you come to Phoenix to see this and I will try and get by at the same time. I'm about 3 miles away from Garbz.

just because all you have is a stick welder don't mean your welds will look like crap. a stick welder in the right hands will weld a bead just a pretty as any mig and be stronger. not starting a pissing match but why would you want somebody to look at your truck and the first thing to come to mind it jesus look at the crappy welding. it looks like you do good work why cover it up with crap?? To each there own i guess.

i would guess cutting the frame at an angle gives the wheel base an inch or two?
