The only reason I asked is because I read it on another site. Only having Torque for a couple days I thought maybe it was necessary to get the equation to work properly, and maybe it was something that was obvious to more tech minded guys but that's not really me, so I had to ask. It's not that I want to do it, I wanted to know if I had to do it.
Has anyone tried the PLX KIWI 2 with torque? Super disappointed that it causes my truck to stall. Hoping there is a work-around: I tried deleting all added PIDs and reloaded app, but no matter what it causes engine stalls (on all my Android devicess). Shame, bringing my EGT in as an analog input is cool, but can't live with the stalls. Dashcommand works ok, but I am not a fan of the limited PIDs.

"*: Replace the * by the multiplication sign (x) when entering the equation.
/: Replace the / by the division sign (÷) when entering the equation."
These lines read to me like instructions on how to read what is meant by those symbols in the formula. The wording of it can be altered a little to be less ambiguous.
I tried the PLX gauges a few years ago on a gasser. It was really a mess. ODBII gauges were hinky and unstable
I spent 2 days messing around and contacting them before buying a cheap bluetooth ELM that worked perfectly the first time with torque free and pro and made the switch. I returned the gauges. DM-200, IIRC. (To be clear, I was trying to use them standalone, not with Torque)
I like the idea of their products, but have been gunshy of them since. Then there is the whole "Legion" naming thing that makes me steer clear, too
When I set up my display I used the PIDs from this thread, now I want to make some additional displays but keep the original. Problem is when I go to make a new gauge, for instance Trans Fluid Temp, there are two available, transmission fluid temp method 1 & method 2. Not sure which one I have now so is there a way to get the info for a gauge that is already set up so it can be duplicated in another layout?
You were really putting the meat to it there - whew.
This reminds me... I have verified all of my Torque PIDs against AE, but I haven't visited MAT yet. I plan on doing this sometime in the future.
Hey Tug- My updated AE is coming shortly. (My old version is serial and didn't have the Ford expansion). I also use TorquePro, going to try it out on the new Ex.
I am mostly stock right now. If there are any readings that can help out, give me a shout
Thank you for that gracious offer... I may just recruit your help.
I might be selling my AE and going to the Win 8.1 version. My new small computer (I named it "Slim") is pretty cool. I can run AE and Torque (with Blue Stacks) on it, and the touch screen display fits in my tablet mount. It runs on straight 12 volts, and it can stream HD video while in the hotel room - if the hotel has a fast-enough connection.
My old 10" netbook ("Li'l Red" with Win 7 Basic) has been collecting dust - I may sell that as a package. It's not for HD video, but one can watch DVD-quality video just fine. It has been a great carputer, but I can afford to move up.
Ok Tugly you have got my attention! I am about to set up my Surface Pro 3 Win 8.1 with my AE tomorrow when it gets here. What is this about Torque on Windows? I have not looked this up but now I am interested?

Let me know how this works out for you. I've been looking at the dual-boot Windows 8 - Android because I want to run Delorme Street Atlas and Topo as my Nav system.
I have CoPilot that works quite well for Android, but I really miss the ability to find and add POIs, waypoints, layers, custom tracks and routes, etc that I did when using it on a laptop on the road.
The in-dash Navs are expensive and lacking IMHO.
Now, you won't be able to run AE and Torque at the same time. Only one ODBII connection on the truck
I would want to run Nav and Torque at the same time, or AE and Nav.
Inbuilt GPS doesn't work well with Windows- at least last time I checked. Sure would be nice, though. Internal GPS, Windows based full blown Nav, and ability to run AE and Torque.
