Just got my 08 dash frame and bezel in, i mocked it all up at 2 AM this morning when i got home from work lol. I'm trackin my progress on the dahs swap in more detail on this thread https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...dash-swap.html. Not sure if I'm going to get winter tires any time soon with Christmas coming up and I'm also getting rims for my 95 so i can put the old tires from this guy on that.
Also would 315/75r16 tires be ok on the stock rims? i thought they wee 16x8 but i just saw that they might be 16x7 that tire size is for a 8-10" rim width though.

You can but I wouldn't recommend it. Stock rims are 7" and 285s are stretching it

Bummer, i was gonna try and keep it close to 35" so that it still looked ok and not goofy lol. I guess i could try it an worst case i can always get some 16x8 or 9 steel wheels at a later date.

right now I'm at about $900 but i also bought some parts that ended up coming on the dash so i dont need them anymore so if i have not bought them then $900-$115= $785 and all i need is the side panels $30 each new and the glovebox $100 used in good condition so then my cost minus the parts i no longer need...which are gonna be for sale i guess.....is $785+$130=$915ish for everything minus the speedo which I'm not sure what ill do about that yet.
Are you sure the 08 dash will fit in there correctly and all the switches/electronics/HVAC will work?
It will need to be modified and the switch pigtails will need to be swapped for a few switches, the 4x4 switch and a few others can be swapped from the old dash to the new one if you pull the back off and use the newer front plates and *****. the fuse panel is going to be tricky though since on the 08+ its on the passenger side kick panel instead of under the steering column. i have an aftermarket radio so i can reuse all my radio stuff, i am going to remove the upfitters and replace them with carling switches, and i am planning on filling in the gap under the 05-0 A/C controls with a plastic piece. Cruise control i will have to figure out and the audio controls i will probably get an aftermarket kit that is used to convert the factory controls to control aftermarket radio's and go from there. Sorry running on 2 hrs of sleep today so my spelling may be all screwed up.
I'm basically gonna try and make everything as universal as possible electronics wise.
Based on these pictures the metal structure itself doesnt look too much different, the vents will take a little creativity to hook into the older heater core though.
Decided today that i'm going to definitely get winter tires soon, tried doing a 3 point turn (more like 6 point) in my driveway this morning and i barley touched the pedal ans the tires would spin lol.
Never heard of these but they look good though! plus they are way cheaper than the duratracs, do you have any experience with them?
Not personally, I first heard of the on The Ranger Station - Your Ultimate Ranger Resource. I am very active on that forum and they have come up a few times and no one has had anything bad to say about them. They are hailed as being better then regular recaps because of the process they use on the tires. And that Kedge grip seems like a no brainer to me. The next set for my Ranger may come from them.
Poke around on the internet and I am sure you'll see some reviews
