Miles on your 7.3

Ok so if there is a thread here I didn’t see it and mods feel free to delete. That said how is there not a running 7.3 miles thread?
Now if you had a rebuild you can post but post details and miles.
Im a closet Cummins (convert) guy and every forum/generation in that world has this type thread.

Also I’m at a point where mine can rust in my drive or I can make it my DD and run the wheels off her like she was meant to be run. Mwahhhaaaaa, so here goes…

2000 274,000 miles. Original motor and zf6 trans.

2001 Excursion 546K, bought new with 50 miles.
Original engine, third transmission.

First transmission failed at 127K when the mechanical diode took the transmission out. That was 2006, fast forward 2021 almost 400,000 miles later, The transmission was replaced and built to last.

Perhaps combining this thread into one of the existing similar threads might be of interest?

Do you have a preference for which thread?

Believe it or not, while many of the redundant threads listed below have the exact same thread titles, they are each actually entirely different threads, started by different members, and all of these threads contain numerous posts, sometimes 100's of posts. By reading through them, you will find many more answers to your question than have responded to your thread here, which will amplify the anecdotal reports available to you for assessing trends and patterns.

Only a portion of the threads that surfaced using search are listed below, limited to having the three words "how many miles" being all included in the exact sequence within quotes, limited to "Search title only", and limited to the 1999-2003 7.3L Power Stroke Diesel only, and excluding any threads asking how many miles for transmissions, air filters, tires, oil changes, etc.

Of note, the word that you used in your thread title, "mileage" was purposely excluded from the search terms chosen, so that you would be able to do a fresh search using your own words if you so choose. There are actually an uncountable number of similar threads besides just those listed below, all of which are asking and answering the same question.

It's a popular and perpetual topic!

How many miles on your 7.3L?

How many miles on your truck?

How many miles on your 7.3L? (Without major repair)

How many miles on your 7.3L? (Poll)

Okay how many miles does your F-250 have?

How many miles on your truck? Poll!!!

How many miles do you have on your 7.3L and what have you had to do in terms of repairs?

How many miles do you have on your 7.3L? What have you had to do in terms of fixing?

How many miles do you have?

How many miles do yall have?

How many miles do you have?

How many miles on your Powerstroke? (7.3L)

How many miles on your 7.3?

How many miles??

How many miles?

How many miles???

In the foregoing threads, the original posters requested a report of miles driven past tense.

In the following threads, the original posters requested a prediction of miles expected in future tense.

How many miles is a diesel good for?

How many miles is too many miles?

How many miles is too much on a used 7.3L?

How many miles are too many?

How many miles is too many?

How many miles is a Powerstroke good for?

How many miles is too much?

How many miles will my truck go?

How many miles is too many miles?

How many miles do they last?

Looking for a used 7.3L. How many miles is too many?

How many miles are too many for a used truck?

How many miles is a lot?

How many miles is too much?

How many miles is too many miles?

How many miles can you get before rebuild?

How many miles can I expect to get?

How many miles can you expect to get out of a 7.3 or PSD?

To be continued...?

sorry you had to look all that up, thanks for the info. I wasn’t trying to be a pain, just thought a running thread which is what I was looking for would be the best. I’m considering DD my 7.3 and really want to know how long these engines last when taken care of.

Man I’m seriously thinking on selling my DD, paying off the wife’s car and DD this truck into the ground. Dealer called me and offered what I paid 2 years ago on my Toyota. I can pay off the wife’s Expedition and the truck can either rust to death in the driveway or I can run the wheels off her. I only have 7 years or about 100k miles till retirement…
