I was wondering how many miles you guy's have on your powerstrokes?? What kind of work have you had to do to them??
Would also like to hear from people who have high miled strokers for sale.
2000 F350 crew long bed 7.3 auto SCMT 80h BANKS exhaust tri -pod gauges 6" lift with 37's {going to re-gear to 4.56} 122,500. She pulled a 30ft goose neck for the first 92,000 mi. Now hauls sport quads,{ thats the real fun!!} and a couple of times pulled back other friends trucks from Oklahoma ,cause his wifes Duramax was chicken!!!!
94 F-250 PSD 255,000 miles. 2nd owner. Couple of water pumps, relays, plugs, PS pump, injector and glow plug harness (2 weeks ago). Few seals and the normal stuff like U-joints. Other than that it runs great. Starts like a charm, pulls like a mad bull. Leaks some oil but she's just marking her spot.
It is a 5 speed with NO work to the tranny or clutch. But the tranny does need an overhaul someday. It's also a plow truck.
And it is for sale.
About 107,000 on my '00 F350 PSD. Mostly highway miles, occasionally towing loads ranging from 11,000 lbs to 24,000 lbs (trailer weights). My only large expense beyond regular maintenance has been a new clutch right at 100,000 miles. I can live with that...
I have a 96 with 87000 or so , one power steering hose and a busted power steering pump barcket, the water pump is weeping a bit and will be changed in the next week or so. Other than that its been pretty good. Thank god my daughter works for a parts house, Ford wanted $300+ for a new one, she got me a new one form IH for $139. Now if I can jsut fined someone with the darn tool to get the fan clutch off I will be set.
Later Larry
ps.
I lied I did a CPS at about 50000 miles its in the glove box, I would on occation get a quick hesitation just after startup about every other month or so, so I got one from IH and did a just in case change out. Now I have a spare in case this one craps out.
