Holy heck, what an ordeal............sorry to hear about the temporary case of bad mojo. I think everyone can say they are pulling for you to have a tring of excellent mojo going forward.
FTE is a truely amazing place full of good folks.
Hi guys. I'm extremely tired as we had a rough day today. My 3 yr old did a face plant from the back of the truck at the dealership, and he had to have 17 stitches and gravel irrigated from wounds on his forehead. Run of bad luck!
The tech showed me the injector, and he said it had" scoring" on it, and both o-rings were gone completely. The truck does sound great, and starts right up now, whereas before it took some cranking. We hooked up the rv, gave farmer guy a thank you card, and left after getting my kid stitched up. We had a miserable exp at an rv park, and we ended up driving to Winnemucca, NV where we are boondocking for the night. I hope the truck starts tomorrow!
I need to get good sam roadside. And some better days.
Dealer, doctor and farmer guy and you still made 450 miles. That is quite a day.
Easy pull now and mostly down hill. Best of luck and our prayers are with you.
Dang, $900 to fix $20 worth of o-rings - that really hurts. I guess another injector in there is better than having to worry about the one that came out, but good chances are it was fine.
Now this will be the trip where truck broke down, got saved by farmer, Dad walked to town and brother ended up with 17 stitches!! Oh yeah, this story will be told for generations!! (someday it will be funnier than it is today )
The wounds will heal and the pocketbook will recover and y'all know alot more about your truck!!! Hope the rest of journey is smooth and congratulations for handling your situation so well.

Traveling is a lot of 'work' to have some fun. When we are gone on a long weekend, I tell my boss on Monday...."it's nice to be back at work so I can get some rest".

Och , Many here are mommas and poppas, and when our babies are threatened or hurt, nothing gets in our way to help them. Lots of hugs and kisses... and ice cream.

What do our 'injector techs' think about this?
I would suggest "Pansen" that if you and your husband are able to do it after you get back home (there are instructions on the forum). Pull the valve covers off and REtorque the Rocker Arms and injectors on each side. If the injector had 'backed out' and lost its' seal to the head, then there would be a lot of movement (slop) and tear up your seals and cause some problems. It would be good to make sure that all of them are torqued correctly. This is a job done easily at home and the valve cover gaskets are reuseable.
I hope the truck starts tomorrow!

We all have Faith... and a long set of jumper cables....
The Sun will rise in the morning
and you are all together and safe.
Well, I'm surprised at the outcome of all this.
If the injector really was the problem, then I've been schooled.
Most important is that you all are heading home and that you get there with no further incedent.
And yes, it will be the topic of conversation and laughter in the future.
Maybe even a few Christmas cards sent between you and the farmer.
Glad you got going & everyone is alive & healthy. A trip to never be forgotten, scar on forehead for conversation for years, made a friend of a farmer & learned a lot about your truck. Helluva trip! Good luck
I've been gone,was there a happy ending,home safe ?
Who knows? I suppose all the caring and concern was for nothing, You would think we would get a "we made it home" or "we made it 50 miles and it messed up again".... something/anything!!!!!!!!!!
There is the possibility that they are not getting the new post notices.. ? I have missed some follow ups from not actually logging in and checking, rather by waiting for an email notification. What i mean is in one thread, if I get the new post email, and I don't click the link and check back on the thread and others post, then I seem to not get the next new post emails notifications... ? Anyone else?
If you look back a few pages she did say that they had made it to Winnemmucca, NV. After all that they had been through and with the little one getting stitces I think giving them a little time to recover isnt asking too much.
