Joe, how do you tow heavy loads w/that ported ats housing. I am thinking on going with that on my stock turbo with ww. I tow a toy hauler. Thanks Chet I am thinking about egt's that why I want the 1.15 ported housing, is that what you have?
WW + ATS is too much, IMHO. I went with the stock wheel & ATS and it's a very nice combo. Lots of boost, no surge, and decent whistle. The 1.15 housing you're referring to is for the exhaust side of the van turbo. The ATS ported housing is on the intake side...
Travis, I had to leave off at pulling the engine and hen puling VC's and other small stuff. Between the damn base hobby shop only beng open Fri-Tues, and me doing my CDL class at the same time, I a mvery time limited. I will HOPEFULLY tear it apart tomorrow and have it tot he machine shop. Did you see my other post about how the oil cooler gasket looked?

I did not see that post on the cooler gasket. Where was it? I will go look for it. I thought a cooler gasket would cause oil in coolant, not the other way around, but it might be possible to go the other way.
DAMN YOU RON- you cost me money! I just read your post before I pulled the trigger on a set of 910's and head BOLTS ($90 each from Summit). SO I figured, what the hell, I'll take ONE LAST LOOK at ePay. Lo and behold, I found one set of ARP's for $399 plus Ca sales tax. So that cost me $435. SO I figure Ron my friend, you owe me $435 minus $90 equals $345. I'll take check, money order or paypal!
Thanks Joe, I didn't reallize the ported housing was intake. I was just looking at my freinds and his turbo exhaust side from banks is much larger then my stock one with lower egt's. I also am looking for a 38 ft toyhauler to tow so I want to keep egt's low as possible.
Danny, using the ARP studs it's a good idea to torque the heads down then let them sit for a day or 2 then retorque them again. Either that or you can do a hot retorque on them once the engine is back in the truck and running. Easier to let it sit for a day or 2 on the stand to settle then retorque. You will probably get a little bit more on a couple studs.. Good luck with it brother.
Took it to the machine shop today, and the guy said the crank was w/i specs, toward the high side, but definitely in. The cylinders look good too, so hopefully it was just the bearings that took the beating and I can slap it all back together after a fresh hone.
Travis, no they didn't mag it yet, or at least I haven't heard from them yet, I'll call tomorrow and see what they have to say. Now Im just trying to get all the darn part coming in as fast as I can.
Just got the call from the machine shop- DIAGNOSIS- cracked block! they said it was cracked from the #2/ main bearing to the cam bearng up the cylinder wall. WTF!?!?! What would cause this to happen? I though these blocks were stout! uuuggghhhh, now igotta spend MORE money I don't have.....
