that sux...sorry to hear this...start looking for a 94 and up good running motor...stud it, spring it,run it.. Kris droped the price of his to 6500 but its too over built for what i want....

Thnaks for the condolensce everyone. I just got back from a local truck salvage yard, and I passed on the running PSD they had for $2500, and instead got a "rebuildable" short block delivered from another yard for $598. I checked CL in the local area and didn't see any, didn't think to look in LA as that OBS woulda been a good deal, but I don't have $700 cash anyways. Damn so far between the towing, repair at the stealer (IPR) rebuild kit, studs, springs, and whatever the machine shop charges, I'll be looking at about $4000. Christ this sucks. Well, at least I'll have a fresh engine, half the dealer cost, and all I need is to make it up towing trailers or whatever on the side. Anyone need a 400lb boat anchor?

Travis, I'll take some pics tomorrow if I can, but honestly they're all kinda black and there's black oily looking gunk between the ring lands, dunno if it's from the water/oil problem or from biodiesel. There's no actual spray pattern to be seen. Maybe they're black from me running it at 3500 rpm after the dealer got it working and I was pissed at the water in oil and getting stuck in the middle of a nowhere podunk town LOL.

To make things even better, he short block I was SUPPOSED to get YESTERDAY never arrived. I then had to call the damn salvage yard to find out what's going on (they didn't have the courtesy to call me) and come to find out that the block I was supposed to get was also cracked, so he's working on getting me another one tomorrow or so.... Dang, just my luck!

please let me know if you and Franko are ever within 100 miles of each other. With the luck you too have been having I may want to be on the other side of the country............or on second thought it may be like off setting penalties, His tranny would suddenly morph in to a BTS and fedex would drop off a fully built stage three 7.3 to you courtesy of the patron saint of jarheads
