OK, you asked for it. It had a 4.2L Jeep engine with a Ford ignition system that never worked (Just like the 86 F250 I've been screwing with). Luckily a GM HEI distributor fit in the block and fixed the whole problem. BUUUT wanting more Horse Power, I pulled every rotating part out of the Jeep and replaced it with a Chevy 350 (400 hp on engine dyno), 700R4 Tranny, Jeep J20 full size Dana 44 front axle, and a custom Currie Rock Jock http://www.currieenterprises.com/ces...jrockjock.aspx Dana 60 full floater rear with 4.56 to 1 gears and ARB air lockers. Oh yah, the only original item in the drivetrain is the Dana 300 transfer case. They are small, made of steel and don't use a chain!!!

I used to have a 1968 CJ 5 with a 4" lift, 33" tires and a V6 225CI Buick than ran great.
But I sold it to buy my wife's engagement ring.
Then again it was worth it.

 

jeeps are fun. i think andy had a CJ. i had a YJ 4 banger, tons of fun.

brendon i think those are pretty cool. before jeep was marketing them there were a few companies making 4 fullsize door yj's and they were pretty badass. they all came pre-lifted and trail ready of course.
