my brother clay bar'd his truck, it came out great. thats a lot of labor though.
Must be nice having that kind of spare time. I'm lucky to find a couple of hours to wash on one day and a couple of more hours to wax sometime later in the same week.
I'm gonna pay someone to do an exterior detail sometime this year I think. There are a couple of sections where the clearcoat has gotten screwed up and there just isn't anything that I can do for it.
damnit! i guess i cant check this truck out until monday or tuesday when it gets back. that means next weekend for me.
in other news, my dad has 25 days to find a 2004 or newer f150 gasser. more truck hunting....
Ive got one of those and love it. you just have to tell him to watch out for the plugs on the 04-07 5.4s. They brake off when trying to change them and could end up costing thousands to do plug job, if you have to pull the heads to remove the busted plug. So, tell your old man to have the dealer change the plugs first before buying the truck. The new design plugs wont give you the same problem

Greg if you want to you could come down some weekend with a clean truck and we can polish & wax it in an afternoon.

why bring it to the dealer when he has me? i'm the family mechanic, the heads will not be coming off. on my wifes mustang however, the right head has blown 2 plugs out. if it happens again im going to buy a set of trick flow twisted wedge heads for it. no other modular engine i maintain has blown a plug, or even have them loosen up.
sounds like everybody had a good weekend. josiah and i went to the durham tractor show. it was ok, nothing spectacular but a good time. there was some cool machines there, some nice ford pickups.

off to bed, goodnight everybody!
Zookie,
My friend has a 2001 F150 V8 with the overhead cams. He blew out one sparkplug. Also, just recently the lower intake started leaking coolant. He broke it and had to replace it (Plastic).

ya the older plastic coolant transfer lines got replaced by an aluminum one and a different manifold. they really arent bad engines to work on and for the most part they are pretty reliable if the oil gets changed.
