Too bad...I'd drive any one of those vehicles! Subaru's are the ****! And vastly superior to Civics and such.

I wouldn't chop that Ford either. But that Chevy looks killer chopped! The

Ford would look great lowered about 2" in front & 4" out back.

You should stick around and not confuse "personal taste/opinion" with "blind hate".

What he said^^^...and please excuse the rude comment made earlier. Some folks are just like that. This is indeed a Ford site and a lot of folks here have loyalty to only that brand, but you'll find many others who just love cars and trucks in general and have vehicles of many different brands. Takes all kinds to make the world go around...

Who made a rude comment?

If you are implying my remark, it was not against his rides. I responded with a joke to his ricer comment in his post.
His one and only post was disdain for this site. If he can judge this site from a thread from 2005 and sum his thoughts up in one post, then I can make my opinion from his post.
Such a sensitive guy.

Such a sensitive guy.
Simple logic: New guy goes to general section. Clicks the biggest thread on the first page... Reads a virtual ****load of generalzations directed towards everything that isn't "4WD FORD BLUE!" from the last 3+ years... New guy decides to post a comment to sum up his thoughts. Shouldn't a man stand up for what he thinks is right? I'm not sure but I'd think a sensative man would prolly just walk away and hide...

Now, to be frank, I've pretty much exhausted my patience for your ignorance and the excuses you wanna come up with for it... take care.

To the rest of the folks, I do appreciate the sentiment and I'll make an honest effort to look around and see if I can find some people who aren't marque bigots...

Speaking of "generalizations," I went back and looked at three pages of this particular post, and it looks to me like at least half of the posts are making fun of some Fords, with the rest poking at other brands.

I think first today is right.

drubber, thanks for giving us another chance. If you look around I think you'll find that this is a great community with a lot of us who are on pretty much the same wavelength as you. Be sure to check out the '73-79 forum for that nice-looking dentside you've got there:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum38/

I think that for the most part, people are simply having fun with this thread and yes, "poking at other brands" which I see happen on every brand-specific forum I've ever been on. Most of it is not to be taken seriously but yes, there are indeed some folks who are absolutely "True Blue" and they don't consider any other brand of vehicle worthy of notice. That's alright too, but I don't think they need to bash others who are not of like mind. Disagree, yes...nothing wrong with a little difference of opinion but the absolute bashing that some folks feel compelled to engage in is not neccessary.

Walk away is exactly what you did in your first post. You also grouped everyone on this site as haters.

Now, to be frank, I've pretty much exhausted my patience for your ignorance and the excuses you wanna come up with for it... take care.

No excuses from me. I merely made an assumption from your post as you did about the site. Your ignorance is already apparent.(broad generalizations and closed mind)

To the rest of the folks, I do appreciate the sentiment and I'll make an honest effort to look around and see if I can find some people who aren't marque bigots...
I myself see nothing wrong with your auto choices. I am not a die hard ford fanatic. I do not have a 4wd. If you built the two trucks in your pictures and have done most of the work yourself , then you do have some talent and would be an asset to this site.

As for irony, you have already assumed me to be a jerk from one post. Enjoy your life and I will see you in the 73 to 79 forum since I to have a 79 short bed 2wd that my father and I have done ourselves.
Best of luck.

A little OT here, but I was just on another brand-specific site and was reading a thread about "Bro-dozers", which pictured an F150 crew on 44s in one of the posts. It was hilarious. "Anti-bro" was the title iirc. Stories about guys with 6" lifts who won't talk to guys with stockers or 3" lifts. Stuff you can't make up...

So I mention this in an effort to point out that this kind of thing is everywhere, and this site is no exception. Wait till you find one of the countless "I tore the smog crap off my xxx and need help making it run" threads.

Well, since I'm rambling like a drunk, time to get to it: You have to separate the wheat from the chaff. Lots of both on big sites. Heck, no one was impressed with my E150 on 31-10.50s, but I'm still here even after I C4C'd it.

Read. Enjoy. Shake your head. when you want, when you can. Nice vehicles, btw. I think the '60s term might have been "sanitary".

Time for my shock therapy.

You made 2 posts before I responded...

I made my assumption after reading all 8 pages of this thread that dates back 3+ years... is there a better thread to get an idea of the forum culture?

Calling me sensative is nothing but an excuse to dismiss my opinion... In actuallity it appears you are a fan of my opinion, just not happy about my execution. It is what it is... like it or not, I'm not wrong... *shrugs*

And did I really walk away? Really, did I?

85e150si4mtod:

you are right... they are everywhere. With that said, I've been apart of random car forums for about 10+ years now and wrentching for another 20+, I've witnessed all kinds of marque hate and have felt it even more often, after reading this thread I couldn't stop myself from posting, maybe it was a bad day, maybe it was just the last straw. I can't explain it very well but I can say I've never felt so compelled as I did here.... Never the less, at the end of the day, we all fill up at the same pump and drive on the same roads. Cya out there.

by the way, got any pics of the van? My buddy has a E250 long body I want him to make into a hunting camper.

No I don't. I was commenting on YOUR generalization about generalizations, which I did find somewhat ironic. If at least half the posts are making fun of Fords, then why does it matter if people are making fun of everything else? You think Chevy guys don't bash on Fords?

Why yes there is. I'm glad you asked! https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/882091-for-dono.html

Brand loyalty is huge for folks with insecurity issues because they believe the only way they can have made the right choice is if everybody who made a different choice is wrong. Pity them but don't waste your time trying to reason with them. They are the same people who go to a chinese restaurant and order a burger. Personally, I only give that degree of loyalty to friends and family.

for clarification:
You stated that you read 3 pages of a 9 page thread and then assumed I was wrong. You got a general idea of the thread and then posted as if you read all of it. Nothing against you but that is the true definition of generalization I'm going for.

but anyways... belive it or not, I'm really not here to argue, I made a point, you are free to disagree, but in the end we both need to get over ourselves and move on, and we should do it right about.... NOW!
