Thumbs up My progress so far....

Hey guys, here is what I got done today. Just got the right side of the truck taken apart because it took me like 4 1/2 hours just to get the running board and fenders off (dang rusted bolts)

Been there, done that. It is easier to tighten them to break them than to back them off. If possible take the whole front clip off, tip it over to remove the other side bolts. Lots easier. I realized this after laying underneath and taking them off.

I'm good at dismantling... almost anything. It is a lot harder to put it back together.

I had a 51 parts truck I stripped to the bare frame a few years ago, it was a real nightmare it seemed compared to this one, but I didn't have to save any of the fenders or bed with that truck, they were so rusted out I was gonna have to replace everything with fiberglass except the cab and it needed patch panels. Anyways so I just cut the fenders off to get to the bolts instead of crawlin under. Thank the Lord I found this truck In much better shape. I feel that taking that old parts truck apart (hacking away) and meticulously taking this truck apart is reinforcing my remembering (wisdom) how to put it back together. I'm just getting excited cause once I get this truck apart I will actually be able to start putting it back together "fairly" quickly because of my donor car and not having to do much body work at all.

When you complete the assembly, you will be wise. I have yet to get anywhere close to finishing my assembly. I have so much knowledge.

Well I'm gonna put a 302/aod trans and a 9" rear axle in it, plus I'm actually thinking about painting it myself with hot rod flatz black now to save some "moola". I want to drive the truck every day when I get it finished.

Cool project, i'm planig on doing the same, except for a 5spd instead of the AOD, i'd also like to find a way to paint it myself, otherwise it may never get done and also a DD, no trailer queens allowed! lol. Nice progress though, i'll be following the build.

Sounds good. Started right up. Should go back together simple. Keep at it.
