I love the way it started and went right to that smooth idle. That's a good sounding flatmotor.

I know it well, my folks used to have an '88. Are you using the fuel tank out of it as well? Is that even possible? Also, are you keeping it EFI or swapping out the intake for a carb?

I'm gonna put a edelbrock carb and weiand intake on it. I wish I could use the gas tank but it is too big.

I figured it would be. The intake/carb setup should free it up a little. The old lincoln's always had 460's, but then I guess they figured they could just stick a 302 in there if they used an aluminum hood instead of steel, but my folks' was pretty gutless, plus the late 80's were super tuned down for emissions. I bet if you get all that junk off and change out the intake she'll really run.

When do you hope to have 'er back together?

I'm hoping to get it together by spring time/summer time but you never know how things will go with things getting in the way of working on it.

I know about things getting in the way all too well, I have the same goal, but not for a total tear down, the cab is staying on for now, I just need to swap the drivetrain out and fix a few things here and there before next summer to get it ready to drive around.

Where are you at?
