Hey Reed,
Thanks for posting those exhaust pics. My transmission guys had the truck up on the rack yesterday to show me that they thought the headers came too close to the transmission on the driver's side. You have the exact same layout - it looks tight up there where the headers dump out - If it's not worrying you it's not bothering me either.
This is the first time I am seeing you build and it looks great. As stated before that blue on black looks real good. Congrats on all the progress and good luck.

What do you think?

I had a local exhaust guy put my system in....he thought the clearance was just fine. As long as you have some air space there (a finger width or two):
Hey Dan,
Thanks - I've got the same engine you have - 351W.
The headers come pretty close where they move around the front of the transmission housing - I'll double check the clearance on the driver's side.
Keep in mind that at your closest point...the exhaust tubes come close to the bell housing...that'll serve as a heat shield for the torque converter inside & there is alot of air space there on the inside.
The hot tubes are pretty far from anything that would get damaged by the heat like a rubber seal or a gasket.
My biggest concern was keeping the heat away from the fuel lines to prevent vapor lock.
Thanks for checking in on me guys! Ive been tied up with some other things here lately lol thats why Progress has been so slow BUT I should be able to post some more pics soon. I should be able to pickup my driveshaft tomorrow and install it. After that I will be REALLY close to starting the engine. I need to get all the wiring done to start the engine, fluid for the trany, anti freeze...and I know I'm missing something lol but I'm getting really excited about working on this thing again!
