oh wow that's an eyelet of the strap on the ground with a dinky chain hooked on a shackle mount? my eyes aren't the best around this time of night, but that's what it's looking like to me.
Just picked up a new 16.5k lb Superwinch. We made a universal fit mount for it and are in the process of wiring 5 trucks front and rear including dual batteries and high amp alternators for each. The mount is designed to be used in any receiver hitch as well as stand alone with its own battery. Got started on the rear bumper for the 250. I'll probably finish it up tomorrow and post pictures.
I think a dual receiver hitch would of been a better idea. The tube looks like 1/4" wall judging by roll in tube. 3/8" would of been better but man that things gonna be a pain to move as it will be a heavy *****.
looks like you scabbed a couple plates together in that center section. Not an issue if you full pen weld prepped it and had a good machine. Thats a killer winch. You running at least a 130 amp alternator on the trucks. I run a 160 amp one that was made to do 100 amps at idle. Good heavy gauge flexible multi strand cable like welding cable is good for leads probably at least 0 gauge.
Heres the one I used for my first setup. Used 3/4" pins that had a lock. One of the bolts holding winch were tacked good so it couldnt be stolen. Tested it real good a couple times but it sucked for my approach angle!
I think its 5/16 or 3/8 plate. Side flat section tabs were meant for a 1" tube cage to be welded on later to protect winch but never got to it.
Did you not mount the winch with some bottom plate holes?
I mounted every hole possible and it was a 12,000 warn

Good idea for the dual receiver. That way the winch won't tilt or turn from slack in the hitch. However, we already have some trucks with custom front and rear single receivers. That would put us making/adapting 10 new bumpers/receivers. It's also possible to use it in anyone's vehicle that has a hitch and on the trailer mounted receivers we're gonna make for "broke truck recovery" and junk car hauling. Plus we wanted to save as much weight as possible as the winch weighs 160 lbs alone. If the mount shows any sign of flex, it'll get more bracing but it's a heavy some bitch as is. It's definitely a two-three man job but it's only gonna be mounted when it's absolutely needed (even after a couple trucks jerk on the stuck vehicle). In the 6 years of sinking my truck in every mud hole I've seen, there's only been two situations a winch would have been necessary. My brother's Bronco and a 60 foot strap will do wonders. Once, we were both broke down in the same mud hole and the other was the quick sand incident just recently. Super Winch brand unfortunately only comes with front mounting holes. Where did you get your alt? What brand is it?
My alternator was built at a shop in town that specializes in them. Its a one wire, large case, internally regulated, industrial Cummings alternator. If you want Badass search Mean Green alternators. eBay has them too.
My guy says with this alternator a dual belt setup is s must or the belt could slip.
I also run dual batterries, one being the biggest yellow top with the highest reserve capacity, that is hooked up on a painless dual battery switch on my dash at the flick of a switch I can connect 2 together. Painless switch with solenoid was about $250 not really cheap. Another option is get a manual big red marine dual battery switch for cheap
