Looking for opinions on how to get a truck to sit level or just under level.
I've seen guys use f250 or f350 springs to get 1.5"-2" lift, but I've also seen there it can be tough to get to get to the castle nut or whatever afterward.
I guess what I'm hoping for is. How did you do it? how did it ride compared to stock after you made the change?
I never had a problem with getting to the castle nut.
They lift the front an 1in or so. Not quite level but really close. The ride is alot rougher. But it helps get rid of sway. I also think a good pair of shocks would help that greatly.
I found the swap to be very easy. Hardest part is some alignment shops claim they can't align it if the coil touches the nut but they are wrong. I personally don't find the ride to be rougher, but is is definately stronger. I got about 1 3/4" of lift.
I just did this mod on Monday. Check out my post on it. I used moog 844 springs. Its sits close to level. A little lower in the front then in the back, but you cant tell unless break out the tape measure. The spring doesnt touch the castle nut on either side, there's about a 1/4in clearance.
i put the rough country leveling springs on my truck, and while i did it i put all new shocks on the truck (6!). yes the ride is a little bit rougher than the worn out original springs, but i dont mind it at all. the whole swap took me about 2 hours shocks and all. parts wise it was about a $370 upgrade. that included the rough country leveling springs, six new rough country nitro series shocks, and the new camber bushings. since doing the level i love the way the truck looks and i get comments all the time about its stance.

I did the same mod on my last truck with stainless steal washers (got them at cost). I stacked them on the stud under the spring cup. If you want to go this route, you can do it for cheaper with washers. Otherwise, I'd go for springs. If you want to save money, I figure you could get used springs at a junk yard.
