Those mastercrafts look beastly. I went with the BFG's because I wanted to go with a very aggressive tire that was still an A/T. I was actually shocked when I put these on, it's a much smoother ride then I would have imagined.
I've heard that they don't self clean extremely well in the mud though. So if your trucks gonna see mud, you might want to stick with the M/T tire. You are right about a couple things, BFG's are really nice looking and White letters out are a must.
and because I am becoming a big fan of posting pics of my truck. here is another shot with the bfg's from another angle. (what you see before getting run over )
crown
Is that a crown victoria hood orniment i see there? did you put that on?
Nope, it's an 80-86 F-Series and Bronco Emblem. PO put it on, at first I didn't' like it, now I think it's kinda cool, but if I ever got a new hood, I probably wouldn't put it back on.
mmm... I would say he was fortyish. Really nice military gentleman from North Carolina, best I can figure is that he owned a 80's truck had had one one it and liked it.
I guess I can relate, I like it to, but people often ask about it because everyone knows that these gen 9 trucks didn't have any hood ornament.
It's just part of the quest to find to absolute best solution... or to find out that you don't want to lift at all.
I don't like to think of it as page 9, more like on our way to page 10.
Without goals, the whole forum's useless!
Lots of good info in here though, and it's cool to find out what everyone else has used. When I lifted my Suburban waaay back in the day, it took me almost a month to figure out how I wanted to do it, and with what parts.

ya its kinda cool. i like it. i've always liked the big chrome FORD letters you used to see on all the ford trucks on the hoods. that would be cool to get on our trucks somehow
Also its funny , i noticed tonight my truck already towers over our 2wd flareside. Figure once i get the leveling coils on its gonna look like a monster truck next to the flareside
relativity is an interesting thing. A couple inches can make a huge difference. A coworker thought my 95 was a 2wd because it sat so low (at least compared to the 4x4 f250 it sat next to.
my 96 still looks small when compared to the stock dodge I park by now, even with the 32's. I think even after leveling it, it will still look small compared the dodge, but much bigger than most fords of that vintage.
Ok, I promised some pics so we'll see if these work. My wife has messed with the camera so the pics aren't the greatest.
So the truck sits like this with 31's, 844 springs in the front, and hybrid leaf spring packs made from the f150 top spring and the 4 bottom springs from the f250 springs. The top of the front fender measures 34.5" and the top of the rear fender measures 37.5" . Front bumper clearance is 18.5" to the bottom and 20.5 to the bottom of the back bumper.
Oh yeah, I only had ten minutes to take these so forgive the dirt.
I'm going to have to measure mine to see what the difference from front to back is. I figured it was two inches or so. But you're is between 2 & 3 inches and you can barely tell.
Thanks. I've got a set of 15x10 wheels I'm cleaning up (wire wheeled and then painted aluminum) and going to put some cheap used 33's on to see how I like it.

That looks sharp, i like the wheels too. i bet it would look really sharp with some 33's like you said. White letter tires would look sharp also
And for more progress i picked up a set of these F150 rims for my new tires. And i placed my order for new tires today. So i got the 33's comin and the Leveling springs!
Thanks Texas. I agree that those wheels look best on our trucks. My longer term plan is, if I like the 15x10 / 33's combo, to buy a set of those 10" from LMC and put some quality tires on them.
