Evening David, Jason and Jay!! How are we all doin tonight? I have been busy trying to finish up a couple honey do things around the house. Wife just ran to the store quick so I am sneaking on here to say HI! Edit: Shes back I better go I will be back later. hehe
Jason thanks for the info and the idea of doing the bearings and seals too! I like that!
We use Quality Trailer in Freeport they are a division of Polar. Usually if we do brakes we get the whole kit with backing plates, cheaper than buy the parts from Napa. Our Napa has gotten real bad with stock, the kid that owns it has 4 stores and spreads out the inventory. I'm sure it saves him money but hard to do a tandem trailer with 2 set of bearings.
You guys certainly do have all the connections! This is great I dont even have the camper out yet and I have numerous places to chose from. You guys are talking Dexter axles is that a popular axle on trlrs? Sorry if that is a dumb question. Would that be what is most likely on my camper?
Not for sure Jay just guessing with the age of the camper and all. I wont know for sure till I get it out. I do know they werent doing a whole lot of stopping power towards the end of the summer.
Doing some homework soon, finished up an order for an AirDog 2 pump for the red tractor puller. Paid for the majority of that from selling a Bronco II.
Wow, There is a lot of people on here tonight that is great, so hi everyone.
Troy, I agree with Jay, you probably have dexter axles and six bolt hubs & 10.5" brakes, but I am not sure.
It seems like alot of us have done brakes. Probably because on non camping trailers they seems to always be bad when we buy them.
I bought a 1977 TT and it had the original brakes, and they were 50%, so Troy, yours may just need adjustment.
I did make a mistake on the last post about trailer brakes, no wheel cylinders on electric, the last one I did was surge brakes, should have started over and went to electric.
Speaking of the camping weekend, did Tom make reservations. If he didn't, I wonder if a different weekend would be better so more could go, especially me.
