He is the king here that's for sure. haha

I don't have the perfect answer on the tranny cooler thing but the V10 is about half again as big as the 7.3 but I think even the smaller 6.0 is about half again as big as the V10 so about twice the size of the stock 7.3. What were they smoking at Ford?

I know, it's the same tranny right, so why would they put different sized coolers on?

Cooler trans temps = longer service life...thoughts to ponder?

I have been told that there are some differences in the transmissions but I have no idea "how" they are different. I have no proof of that though

All I can say Jay is it must have been strong stuff. You ever see the stock Y pipe on a V10.

Hey guys I just got off the phone with BTS and my tranny has a birth date of April 7th!!! They said it will take 3-4 days to get here after the build. I am goin to start another thread later on for a GTG for the install but right now I am thinking early to mid May cause the end of April is a mess for me right now. It is going to suck staring at it and not being able to get it in.

Not that it should affect your GTG but I will be out of town May 4th-8th. Going to Arizona

Wow I can see why you want to get rid of that Y pipe! Yeah it really makes you wonder about the people who engineer these things. I would like to sit down with them sometime and have them explain why they do stuff like that.

Thanks for the info on when your gonna be gone Jay. Is your mom doing any better?

She sounded better when I spoke to her at noon. Her potassium level was still low and no word on any of the tests yet. The doctor makes her rounds late afternoon. Thanks for asking.

Hope everything keeps improving with your mom Jay.

I think I have my old Y pipe some where. Maybe when we install Troys trans, we can put the Y pipe on his truck. Wonder how that would work on a PSD. Probably blow it right off.

Glad to hear your mom is improving a little Jay!

We could try the Y pipe but it might choke it off just a wee bit...lol

Steve, You heard Troy is havimng a GTG to do his Trans and other stuff. You shoud bring your truck and do the Y pipe. I am sure by the time you got back home you would have good feedback on the change in the truck.

Come on, it is only about a 2600 mile round trip.

is that all, let's see at 15mpg at 2600 miles, that's 173 gallons at 2.50 per gallon, it'll only cost me $433 in fuel round trip......when is it?

LOL
