What Have YOU Done To Your Truck Today?

Today we finished up a complete rebuild of the brake system (replacing literally everything except the hardlines on the chassis and the prop valve), replaced the bushings on the stabilizer bar end links, four new KYB shocks, and installed the new wheels and tires. The wheels are American Racing Torque Thrust Originals (TTO) in 17" x 8" with Firestone FR-710 tires. Nice to finally do away with those 1980s F-150 rims that have been on the truck for heaven knows how many years!
I am keeping the CB, but I'm planning to move the antenna to the left front corner of the bed, behind the cab. I've never liked the current mount. It sticks out too far and looks out of place.
Installed a receiver hitch that we got from the green parts store (for under 180.00).
We did have to drop the spare tire carrier. We decided to leave it off since it rattled like a toolbox full of rocks.
Such 1/2 inch holes is all it took. Mounting hardware was excellent.
We did use some strips of leftover vinyl flooring to protect the mounting surfaces.

Nice install job, I recommend putting some spray silicone or a dab of grease in the key slot and then the rubber cover cap (that's made for it) on the lockable pin end piece for your receiver. Road grime and gunk can get in there and then your key will not fit or the lock will be to gummed up to work.
Better yet leave it out all together and in the tool box or behind the seat. That way it will not get gummed up and you or someone else will not hit their shin on it.

10-4 on the hitch pin. That is normally what I do (leave it in the tool box until needed). The rubber cap has deteriorated to where it won't stay on.
I bet we've all got some scars on our shins from hitting a hitch ball.
I forgot to mention that we had to notch the hitch frame a little to account for the inside rivet head on the truck frame. (3rd picture)

That axle is looking good, but are you 100% sure that is the correct steering stabilizer shock? I think your mount ends (eyelet and threaded stud) are incorrect. I believe the shocks inner shaft part goes to the tie rod bracket and the shock body connects to the passenger side shock bracket. When your suspension cycles and you steer, it looks the extra u bolt thread can contact the shock body.
