What Have YOU Done To Your Truck Today?
Finally took some time to do a little tuning, mainly to get rid of a stumble when the throttle was yanked open and get the warm idle at at a point where it is happy.. Next is to drive it for 20-30 minutes and let autotune in Tuner Studio tweak the VE table. I mashed it pretty hard in 1st a couple times and I think it's gonna be a blast.
thanks, wouldn’t have needed to do them but in order to pull the zf back out without pulling the motor I needed the space so I put in a body lift (something I never thought I’d do) and all the bolts came out except the pass front hitch snapped. So I knew all the mounts were compressed from years of use that if I replaced only that one the truck wouldn’t sit level, so began torching off the rubber and cutting the mounts out. Fun fun fun but getting closer to hearing those mad dog headers
Didn’t do it today but about a month before I parked the truck for the winter....I pulled the Weiand Stealth intake manifold off my 460 and installed a Edelbrock Performer RPM. Overall the truck runs much better. Starts easier cold or hot (not that it was really bad but I can tell a difference) and the overall drive ability is much nicer. I originally wanted to swap the intake so I could put the factory air cleaner back on. The Weiand being taller....not enough clearance.
Also about two months before I parked it I swapped the shocks that came with the suspension kit (cheap shocks in my opinion) for a set of Rancho 9000XL with the adjustable valve. Just putting the fronts in the truck rode much nicer. Just got the rear shocks put in as well but I had to make extension bracket for the bottom so the shock body would clear the mount. Again much nicer.

you cant tell from the picture but i did on both sides, theres a 1/4 gap between headers and mount, hopefully the jet hot helps with the heat
After calling about six different junkyards and learning that none of them have any old Ford trucks past 1990 here in southeast VA. I jumped on FB market place and CL. Still slim pickins there. But I did find a set of Bronco bucket seats in rough condition. Paid $80. Next stop is a sandblaster and powder coating.
