What Have YOU Done To Your Truck Today?
Built my own
Short one battery to solenoid. Long solenoid to starter.
Added split loom and taped the ends to hold it in place.
Needed to change the positive cable. It was the original. Said Motorcraft (D9.....). I had some 2/0 welding cable around so I used it and made my own cables. Solder on the ends and shrink tube. Starts much better now. I forgot to take a pic of the original wire. My take one before disposing of it.
Nice work on the cables. Quality cables with heavy copper wire like you used are not cheap if purchased outright from a quality supplier. What you'd get if bought from a big box auto supply store can't compare in quality. Win win you saved money and ended up with better cables. Installing good heavy cables are an often overlooked maintenance item on these trucks.
I have a '75 f250. During my auto to 5 speed manual swap I pulled the interior and covered the floor with sound insulation.
I also applied a layer of pad on top of that to further help with insulation against noise and temperature extremes. But, the consequence of that was that the gas pedal was prevented from reaching full throttle. That was an easy fix. I removed the pedal assembly and heated it with a torch, and bent the rod up a bit. The pedal is still comfortable to the foot, and is now able to reach full throttle with ease.

-variable rate coil springs
-body mount bushings Energy suspension Poly

-Axle pivot bushings Poly
Unfortunately I cracked the seal on input sear shaft for my power steering gear box when i was installing body mount bushings. Rebuilding the seal and reinstalling gear box this weekend. Heading to alignment shot next week. Thanks everyone!

I just finished my 93 F150 4.9c.i. auto. Finally repaired my ignition switch actuator and steering column bearings. I put on a new ignition switch- not key and tumbler. I tried to start the truck by manually moving the pin on top of ignition switch. No luck starting. Did I get a bad switch or can the truck not be started like this ? Jumped the solenoid and the truck starts right up. Mounted the new switch with no results. Bad switch or ? All ideas and information accepted. Thanks all.
2018 Ford Super Duty OEM Under Hood LED Light
Saturday, (19 December 2020) went to local Junk Yard to look for a pair of tweeter speakers which I got out of a loaded up 2004 Ford Expedition and they say Ford on them. Like everyone else, I looked around and saw a 2018 Ford F-350 that was t-boned on the passenger side. Checked under the hood and saw the OEM LED light, so I got that as well.
I took Ron, junk yard employee a cup of McDonald's coffee, as he lives at the junk yard in a motor home. When I was ready to leave and pay, Ron told me Merry Christmas. I send Ron a Christmas card every year ICO "Tri-County Auto Dismantler".
