What Have YOU Done To Your Truck Today?

The P.O. had the distributor hooked up to manifold vacuum, and the AC vacuum accumulator hooked up to the carb...got those swapped back around and done up right.
Also, finally got the new alternator brackets installed. The L&L pieces are really well made and are really nice! I painted them up with self-etching primer and then three coats of black, got it all installed. Finally having an alternator that doesn't squeal and doesn't hit the crossmember is really nice!
Truck is finally starting to run really nicely. I got it out on the street, and the darn thing broke the brake pedal helper spring so the brakes were dragging!
Some days, y'know?

Pulled the beautiful Copper Header Gasket from Summit. It leaked because it was 1/4 inch to big, unfortunately there is only one way to know they leak. No can return now.
Ordered a Earls Gasket which should arrive today, cross our fingers.
Installed a donor Power Steering Pump and AC Compressor.
Waiting on K&N 4" Filter, Condenser Drier, Pertronix Electronic Distributor, Flame thrower II coil, and Government officials to come throw me in Debtors Prison.

I wish it was something other than the fuel! I have between 12-13 gallons to get rid of once I figure out what to do with it and where to dispose of. That was some nasty stuff and my clothes are on their second wash now! Still deciding if I will try to get the tank boiled out or just replace. I have been "online" parts shopping all night since posting the original post on the build site. My wife thinks I am in over my head but she always under estimates the garage skills, must be something with throwing wrenches or things like that!
I talk a lot about donor parts too koolchange. Maybe someone should start a donor registry. Like the ones for people, but for dents?

I have a few things too which someone else could put to use. Anyone need a wiring harness? Bought a firewall to rear bumper wiring harness from a 75 Supercab to put on my 78, but found out the plugs are different, so it's just been lying in my closet. No cuts or repairs, just a good unmolested wiring harness. Needs new covering, but wiring is good.
