I did a bunch of stuff related to my paint project thread

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ct-thread.html

And a had a moment of genius as I was working on my badges for my personalized plates so I quickly browsed to our DMV website to see if it was available. OMG it was available!!! 79 RNGR will be dawning Candy Cane in a few weeks.

Man you need to be careful with your dent. Test the waters before you dive in.

Gotta be more careful that you don't veer off the dirt road into the mud-might spill the beer!

It's really hot out or I might have done more...

  • Installed Dennis Carpenter gaskets under the side marker lamps on the yellow truck
  • Installed chrome Dennis Carpenter door lock ***** on the yellow truck
  • Moved the black plastic ***** to the brown truck - they look better over there
  • Installed fresh plugs in the brown truck
  • Adjusted the carb to 1.5 turns out. Seems to run much better in limited testing
  • Installed new dash cover on the brown truck:

It is a little lumpy -the xm radio antenna runs under it...

Last Tuesday I installed a set of polished cast aluminum valve covers. Adds a little something that was missing to the engine. Yesterday I pulled the plugs and cleaned them up. Not too bad. Been running a bit rich I think, so I leaned out the carb a bit. Seems to start up easier now as well. Today I finally got the alternator replaced again. Tomorrow I'll test it out and see if the truck will hold a charge while I'm at work. I sure hope so. Then tomorrow I can get the turn signal switch ordered and have working brake lights again.

Finally got around to working through my wiring harness and fixing my turn signals and brake lights! Glad that is over with... previous owner made a hell of a mess under that dash.

Found out that I didn't have a bad diode in the last alternator. Drained battery again. UGH! I guess I'll put the old voltage regulator back on and see if that does anything. Gonna order the turn signal assembly today as well.

Well, got rid of my 428 on my drag truck frame...
Then I got to looking the frame over real good, the PO cut chunks out of it to make the 428 fit, and now the frames cracked in a couple spots... The C6 has a crack, and I still have a laundry list before I make it to this one... Gonna take a lot of welding... Oh well, may as well beef it up while I'm at it...
The Orange Blossom Special is at a standstill while I wait for parts...
I'm still tired of looking at the 88 toyota.
The 87' S10's 355 starter is being a real pita
I've got to pull the Body Lift out from under my parts truck for the lifted truck (don't feel like spending money on bushings, and whats another 3" gonna hurt ?) I think that brings total lift up to 9 or 10"s, without tires... Got a set of 35"s on the parts truck I'm gonna run untill I find some others...
The Bronco ain't moved... I really need to put the axle back in place on it...

I've found a 78' F250 Ranger XLT that I'm trying to buy/trade for... 36" tires, 4" lift...400M with some goodies, C6, and the body's origional other than the hood, and there's one spot of rust on the underside of the hood... If I get it, I'll be driving it, untill the Orange Blossom Special is done...
