Yes, the original was built in three sections and zippered together. The square in the center was for the fifth wheel - you could enclose the entire bed with the fifth wheel attached.
When I bought the truck, the fifth wheel hitch had been removed, and there are several holes through the bed where it mounted. The inside of the bed also has a non-functioning 7 blade connector.
I think the old cover was probably really nice (and expensive) when it was new, but was now torn at the front. The zippers had become non-functional and were falling out. I might have been able to get the zippers repaired, but it was still torn, so I opted for a new one.
When I dropped the truck off this morning, I was wary of the color, but it looks better this afternoon! And certainly better than the standard black or optional white.

Nasty Fuel
I wish it was something other than the fuel! I have between 12-13 gallons to get rid of once I figure out what to do with it and where to dispose of. That was some nasty stuff and my clothes are on their second wash now! Still deciding if I will try to get the tank boiled out or just replace. I have been "online" parts shopping all night since posting the original post on the build site. My wife thinks I am in over my head but she always under estimates the garage skills, must be something with throwing wrenches or things like that!

I drug in half another parts truck with a 428 motor in it (still have to take the trailer back for the other half), and a 78 bronco...Like I really needed another project....
wish the po would have told me the rear axle wasn't secured at all (he told me it was strapped in there good, i saw the u-bolts settin on the glovebox door) oh well, it needed some metal work where the axles setting now...

Well after looking at houses in the morning and early afternoon I was able to spend about 5-10 min with the Highboy. Im gonna try to put a second tank on it, the po pulled the in cab out and put in a bronco2 tank in sideways. I just need more fuel capacity so I'm working on a 13 gal tank the will mount to the frame under the drivers side. It's 1/4" wall tubing so impact is not too much to worrry about. Then there will also be a matching air tank on the passenger side fed with my twin cylinder compressor.
