Concur. I really think that weight box will help a lot. I mean it wasnt a whole lot of hop but enough to make anyone back off it. I take that back. There was a guy last summer in a gasser class I saw that just pinned it. It started hopping so bad the plates on the front fell off and he dqed ha
yea they help with hopping but if it starts hopping with weight on their and they arent secured well the will start to hop also and actually make the hop worse. He just had hanging weights on the front and I would say probably half of them fell off and he ran them over. I laughed pretty hard at that but not at the girl who almost drove her pulling tractor through the concrete barrier that night. ha. Luckily it wasnt one of the big guys. We had a pro puller pull for show a few years back and he came unhooked. I thought I was going to die because he was aimed right at the stands. Luckily he was quick about shutting her down. I love pulling but it is dangerous but even the danger is part of my love for it.
Usually those tractors have a 'kill cable' attached to the sled so that if it comes unhooked, it automatically shuts it down.
Unless it was a Farm Stock class.
Well the only classes we had that night I think were small classes that didnt require kill cables. I dont know if the sled didnt have a cable or what but he shut it down not the sled's cable. I dont really know for sure but it was pretty sweet. He did a big wheelie it hit and came unhooked and it was pointed directly at the stands. This was a county fair event and all we have are concrete road blocks. Those aint to hard to move with any type of force behind it. It was fun I love pulling and always will. I hope to build a puller sometime in the future for fun.
Oh and his tractor is the Squealer. If anyone knows who that is. He lives like 2 miles down the road from me. It aint no farm stock tractor. Its a blast to watch.
Not too bad for a John Deere.
And an alcohol burner.
Does that tractor pull at the Elkhart County, IN truck and tractor pulls?
I think I've seen that tractor a time or two?
I am not for sure where all he pulls now. He did go to almost everything in the midwest but I think he has gotten kicked out of a few places because he always won ha. I will have to ask him next time I see him. I dont think Elkhart county is out of the question though.
so i guess it was a tight track with all the rain they had down there? i don't remember if you said or not. looks like on a loosish track you won't have any problems running 4th gear and the turbo spools a lot better with the sled behind it!!! Again, great job man. the truck came out awesome
