Well, it's 6am and I just home a little while ago. All I have to say is Bobbie's Kitchen Pass did AWSOME. It did better than I had ever hoped. Even with no weight hangin'. My first pull I pulled in 3rd low. We went 250ft and it was a ride. I had a pretty bad hop going and lifted mid track, but got back in it. Suprisingly, the turbo came back to life and we dug for the finish. But I was BANGIN' the 4000 rpm rev limit at will. It was bad azz.
Second pull a good friend who's been pulling a long time said I should really try 4th low. I was scared to death I didn't have the motor for it. But to my suprise, it lit up and took off like a rocket!!! However, at about 100ft, the bounce came back and BAD. I had to lift again. But this time, the turbo would not re-lite, so that pretty much ended the run. But I was so stoked, it pulled 4th gear HARD! So there's the update. There is a ton of video, and I'll get it posted asap. You guys are gonna love it.
Ross, against your recommendation, I had to try 4th and I'm glad I did. But now that I think about it, I'm running 235's and I believe your tires are quite a bigger. I think that was the difference. But then again, I wasn't hangin' weight, so you still may be right.

congrats! I'm glad you got to try both gears I just wanted to see to you get a pass underyour belt in 3rd since it is a lot more forgiving i think i did pull 4th low with 4.10s pretty decent on a real loose track with weight but did basicly the same thing you did had to back out because of bouncing and never got it back. then when I dropped down to 3rd I did the same thing as you and just bounced off the rev limiter. thats why I went for a gear change right off the bat.
I'll be real interested to see how your truck handles that gear when you get some weight on it.
where are them vids?! ha come on Ive been waiting all day to see those. I am sure some other people have been also. Sounds like you had a pretty good first couple pulls. Hope it only gets better
Wish i coulda made it out brotha. i tried like crazy, but just couldn't dig my way out of previous engagements.. i was only an hour away too.. Glad to hear your happy with it so far. hopefully the next track is a bit looser so you can run that 4th gear again. Hope you don't mind, but i'm gonna post a pic for everyone til you can get your vids up.
