Exclamation IMPORTANT: CPS PHANTOM CODE INFO

I have it in writing from Corporate Ford. That they are aware of Phantom Code issues with the New Grey CPS. Phantom Code issues that "May also exhibit drivability symptoms (running rough, miss, buck/jerk, hesitation)"

I got my friend down at the dealership to print it out for me. It is NOT a TSB but just a "Special Service Message" Here it is in black and white for all to see.

Please let me know if you want the info in a form besides pdf. and I will send it to you.

Excellant job Nolan! So what happens now Nolan, are you going to get a black one in there?

On Edit:

I want to give Curtis (Pocket) props on his original post about a TSB about the new CPS. But this was before they had admitted to there being drivability issues. Here is his thread which is the only reason anyone knew to tell me to look into this as a possibility for my problem.

Thank you all for the reps!

Thank you Stewart for giving me a black CPS.

Jim: Any chances of a sticky???

I guess I should wait to get my cruise thing done, then I can have that *and* the CPS recall-recall done.

On that speed switch recall, I haven't decided what I'm going to do. Manager at the local stealership is kind of a tool...don't trust him not to screw something up.

If they do a recall -recall on the CPS, can we suggest that it be a different color, like PINK..so we know which is which? This is starting to get confusing...

Thanks Jim!

Lisa I agree im up for a pink CPS why not.

And no guarantees that there will be a recall because unlike the original issue with the black cps, this is not a safety issue.

Remember this was not a TSB. Meaning the only way dealerships and mechanics are getting this info is if they ask about a problem that this involves.

I got him covered on that. I picked up a couple spare, used ones off of ebay a while back so I gave one to Nolan to use.

I think a few other guys from here bought some too.
