not a fanboi either, I used to geek it out, I just hate all computers now. I try not to use it (computer) much anymore but that is getting harder in the network centric world we live in, I am happy I just disabled my Facebook account, too much hassle, if want to talk to me and you are family, call me. ::::Walking away from my soapbox::::
I know I posted more yesterday also, but for some reason my posts never made it on, you're not alone Kirby haha
Not all my posts made it on either. Just wondering, did ya'lls posts say "Fordborn is a *****" in them too? Just kidding.
Maybe the aliens are gathering them up for some evil use against humanity.
if you have XP Pro OEM, then someone on this forum might be able to help you out cuz that someone might have an XP Pro OEM disk that will work with any XP Pro OEM key....
AH HA! Now that you so eloquently 'splained it to me, I checked and I do have an OEM sticker on the Dell POS. I'd have to crack the case on the other one to see but judging by the folder, I'd figure it was retail.
Uninstalling on my main computer is not an option, unless I went to 7 on it, and it's time for an upgrade computer-wise anyway, so I would just do that, then my main computer would become my back-up.
Yeah, I think it's really important that Microsoft get every penny they can, seeing that poor ol' Bill only has about $200 billion. I think it's all B.S., somebody paid for that initial copy in both instances. It's not like I'm switching from another system and trying to install Windows for free.
Nobody is saying that here, you have two valid licenses for XP there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to do what you want with it.
The reason for all this license crap is there are millions of people who refuse to pay for it and piracy is rampant for windows users, not just windows but other software too.
I didn't say that the price for windows was reasonable either, the last update to the Mac os was 29 bucks. A far cry from windows 7 ultimate upgrade being 200+
doug if you pm me with a mailing address, I can send you a xp pro OEM disk, which you could use your key with.

PM sent, (And one to Greyghost 85's wife,) but she told me not to get into that publicly right now....
If it helps, when I fully disassembled my carb, I used a can opener to open the carb cleaner can all the way (it had a paint style lid) and the main body slid right in (a holley 4180) of course disposing of it gets harder after you mangle the container it is in...
There is a much easier solution guys, that solves BOTH problems. The Home Depot sells 5 gallon buckets for like $4, and lids for like $1.50 (or less, in both cases). Pour the carb cleaner into the bucket and close it with the lid. Doesn't completely cover the carb? Do one side at a time, or buy 2 gallons and cover it once. Since the original containers are still intact, re-fill them and secure the lid for next time. Carb cleaner is not a one time use product and it will clean up a lot more than carbs, and even if that's all you do with it, in a sealed container, ought to rival plutonium in shelf life.
Doug... When you reinstall your OS, the 'doze guys I work with tell me to configure the pagefile
(used as virtual memory) to a specific, fixed size; DO NOT let 'doze manage it for you as doing
so results in extreme fragmentation of the disk.

I have thought about doing that. From what I understand, I could do that now, without uninstalling the system, but I haven't used enough brain cells to fully take in what's involved.
Another thing I came across- perusing the installation instructions for 'doze XP-... (hate to do this , but I can't stop myself.... a few minutes ago, I almost asked what the hell 'doze was, I thought in was something in the program I was missing. )- was the option of setting it up for FAT32 or NTFS along with the caveat that once you went to NTFS, you could not revert to FAT32. Along with that pearl of wisdom was the parameters of why you should install what. " Use FAT32 if your hard drive is smaller than 32GB." Well my hard drive is just slightly smaller than that. Only 26.25GB smaller. But my system is set up on NTFS. Hmmmm....
Of course- one of the reasons I want to do this is to start with a clean big-a$$ hard drive, so that probably won't apply when I reconfigure, but it has me wondering if that's not part of the problem now.
Yeah- I forgot about that! Maybe that's why she keeps PMing me instead of posting. She wanted me to ask you, do you still fart under the covers?
I guess she connects with me since life as I knew it ended in '03. And now I'm single again..... ( and you know I'm full of BS)........ don't take any of this seriously.

Sounds like a plan to me. Not sure when I can get to a Home Depot though, it's like 40 miles away...
Ever since I got a job, I have been sleeping alot better. Today's my day off and I slept 11 hours without even realizing it. lol
