First Time Noob post
Your truck is looking great, keep up the excellent job. It is nice to see your progress and how much you are getting completed on your build. It looks like you are figuring out your paint really well too. Keep the updates coming!
I've been too busy building to stop and take pics during the day...
Actually I forgot to take the camera out to the shop.

For a first timer I'm happy with my progress. In hindsight there are a number of things I would do differently. I purchased single stage paint... I would definitely have purchased 2 stage urethane given what I know now. Thanks for the feedback JunkyardFord. It's great to get the encouragement.
I put the motor and tranny back in the truck and then bolted my headers in. I'm going to be welding up the exhaust in system for it. I've been buying bends and mufflers, x=pipe and stuff for a while. It's going to be 2.5" pipe all the way from stem to stern with a crossover just before the glass pack mufflers, then I'm going to have both exhaust tips dump out on the passenger side just before the rear tire. It's the most direct route I could think of for the exhaust. I have two oversized gas tanks and a funky trailer hitch in the back that stopped me from running straight pipes out the back. I'll get some pictures tomorrow when there is daylight.
I just read through the entire thread and what an awesome project and build! Gotta love the SCS's. I think the lime green is one of the best original period colors for these old Fords. I'm looking forward to seeing the latest pics. Thanks for sharing!
Here's pics of the headers (they are low buck flow-tech headers)on the motor and my newly fabricated custom hardkase exhaust. I decided to put aluminium flame proof paint on the pipes... I have issues with rust

not yet. Patience Grinner. We're both probably being checked out by customs to make sure those are not al Qaeda washers.
exhausted about exhaust
Well I put the hardkase exhaust in the truck. I ended up welding some 3 hole flanges onto the headers. I used walker universal flanges (P/N 31919).
I had some trouble fitting the driver's side header past the steering gear, but then I just lifted the motor out of the way and bolted it in. I wish I would have thought of that earlier as I kind of beat up my headers when I took them off earlier today to weld the flanges on.
