Aim/DJM lowering kit thread
Looking at the pic in WilliamWilliam's gallery, I don't see a tab on his. If it was there it would be visible in that pic. You can clearly see the bolt that goes thru the spindle and the nut that bolts on the tie rod. The tab should be right there if it has one and it's apparently not attached to anything.
The DJM's have no tab at all, so apparently it's not required. Maybe you could try calling the manufacturer tomorrow and ask them what the tab is for.
How difficult is that to understand? You bought the parts. Saying you bought the same as William means nothing. Even if the exact identical part numbers how much effort should someone willing to help put in to find out later what you bought was NOT exactly what William bought. Which does appear to be the case.
"Did" - Beginning a sentence with this word would indicate a question.
"you" - "the pronoun of the second person singular or plural, used of the person or persons being addressed, in the nominative or objective case: You are the highest bidder. It is you who are to blame. We can't help you. This package came for you. Did she give you the book?"
"buy" - purchase
"parts"- in this example would refer to the pieces in question
The rest of the question would indicate a choice between the 2 would need to be made. Realizing afterwards you may not have bought for a '67 or a '76. Indicating the proper year would be the correct choice.
With this answer one could easily compare with what you have installed on your truck and be able to make a determination as to you having the correct parts for your application or not. Now you should not only understand the question but should also be able to understand why it was asked.
Good luck with your install.
2) Hey "elgemcdlf" Thanks for your input this morning. Just to let you know, my questions about the tie rod relocator were directed to "Williamwilliam". I do thanks you for your input!!
3) It's obvious, "elgemcdlf", you don't have a job but you do have a lot of time to attempt to give english lessons. Maybe you should spend more time working on the "POS" F100 you have. I have a small tie rod relocator issue but from the photos I saw that you posted, you have royally "JACKED UP!!!" your mom's truck. I didn't know Pinto parts would work on a F100. Dude, mom is gonna be made at you!!! Have a Great Day sittin on your front porch lookin at that "POS" F100 and wondering what other Ford part you can use on it. Why don't you try some Fairmont Futura parts!! Bad thing about that is your mom won't have anything to drive now. When you get that POS F100 running, you'll really impress the girls at the apartment complex accross the street from your mom's house.
Hey "elgemcdlf"!!!!, I almost forgot... Good luck on further "JACKING UP" your mom's truck. I bet it's the best riding "POS" in Indy!!! Have a nice day!!!
Looking at the photos you added, my tab on the relocator is flat not curved like the ones in the photo. Williamwilliam's tab is not visible in his photos. My relocator is attatched just like his except the tab. Any thought to what year spindles he may be using?
Thanks!! JohnDavid

they show the same part # for '65-'79 with the only apparent difference of using a different king pin # for disc vs drum brakes.
I don't have drop beams on my '66 but I have converted to disc brakes using the complete front suspension from a 78 F150. Obviously, there were no tie-rod relocator issues with that but I have heard of people having some spindle bump-stop issues when swapping the later model spindles onto their original beams. That's why I swapped spindles, beams, radius arms etc. all from the same year of truck so I wouldn't have those issues.
Admittedly, that "tab" is a curious thing on the AIM tie-rod relocator. It'll be interesting to see what you find out. Google is your friend and hopefully someone else with a lot of dream beam experience will chime in here.
Good luck, buddy!
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
It's been so long since I've actually looked at my suspension I can't answer your question right off hand, sorry. I will go friday and take pictures of my suspension and have them posted up someti me saturday.
Filthy, Good luck with your build . l think your kit ooks just like mine. It's been so long I can't remember, I did mine back in 2004. Please post some pics of your truck when you are done. Let us all know what you think. I think you will be very happy.
Be sure to do before and after pics. Oh, and if you have not done it yet. Get poly radius arm bushings and install them while you have everything apart. They are worth it!
I ordered the beams from airbag it/AIM/ truckin/chassis tech. (Whatever they want to be called this week) I ordered them un powder coated, as I was going to have a friend powder coat them in a different color for me. But, I am so ready to get this truck dropped, I think I'm going to start the install and forget the powder coay, so I can proceed with all of the paint/body and interior and get it done before the show season/spring time/cruising weather.
