Hey guys. Wanted to post some pics of my 68 ranger with the AIM lowering ibeams and rear shackles and hangers installed. I know alot of you guys ask to see these kind of pics. Anyone else wanted to show pics of their lowered truck using these parts, please do so. Any questions, please ask.

Looks good, is the rear end sitting on the bump stops?

Also, did you have to use shorter rear shocks? Did you leave the stock number of leafs in your springs? Does it bottom out when you hit a bump or have a small load? Do those tie rod adapters create anything funky with the steering or handling? Sorry for so many questions....LOL! Thanks.

Yes, it only has about 1 inch of play in the rear, but i only cruise the truck. I dont haul anything in the bed at all, so actually I dont mind it. The ride is actual good considering. The front has about 4 inches of play with these lowering ibeams. I did use the shorter lowering shocks all the way around, which also helps the ride. Like I said, I really only cruise the truck. I would guess that if I did have to drive the truck on alot of rough country roads it would probably get tiresome after awhile, LOL. But it does ride better than you would think it would as much as it is lowered. Its lowered 4 inches in the front and 5 inches in the back. Remember that I have it as low as I could get it, I can always raise it up an inch, but I like the way it is sitting, and the over all stance looks good, so I left it the way it is. I cant remember if it had 4 leafs and a helper or not, but I know we took the helper completely out. So now there are only 3 leafs in the rear.

The tie rod adapters do not cause any problems, it steers just as normal as it did stock. I also have power steering with power drum brakes. I feel no difference in it at all.

On the rear, did the truck originally have the three bolt shackles (EZ-ride suspention)? Springs look pretty long. Std springs would be 28" from center bolt to rear eye. EZ-ride would be 31".

I do have disc brakes on the front. I dont think mine came with the ez ride suspension because everything bolted right up. I will measure them this weekend and let you know for sure though.

WW, I think the ride height is perfect for this truck and looks really sweet, but gotta admit I'd be a little concerned about being so close to the bumpstop in the rear for my application. I guess the only remedy for that would be to C-notch the frame to allow for a few inches of travel. How much shorter are your rear shocks?

OK guys. I went over this morning and looked at the truck to answer some questions. It appears that it does have the EZ-ride or Flex-O-Matic rear suspension because I measured 31" or so, couldnt be too accurate but they are longer than 28".
As for the shocks, I measured 14 3/4 inches total length of the shock from one end to the other. Keep in mind that they we also not fully compressed, and it measured roughly 1 1/4 inch, so it would probably be closer to 13 1/2 inches, give or take a little bit, if the shock was fully contracted.
Surprisingly enough, the rear of the truck does not bottom out like you would think it would do, but like I said, I dont ride on too many rough roads with this truck. :D

thats a good price, but I dont want to cut the frame. If I rode the truck more than I do, and if it was more very bad rodes that I would take the truck on, I would probably just raise the truck in the back about 1 inch. The back hangers and shackles are adjustable.

That looks just awesome!!!! Can you give the specs of your tire and wheel combo....they are spot on!!!!

did you replace the king pins when you put the new beams on?

sorry guys, been real busy.......
front i am running 215/70R15 and on the rear I am running 275/60R15. The wider tire on the rear kinda helps even it up when you look down the side of the truck from the rear. (otherwise they look like they are running sideways!) I did install new king pins along with everything else that needed new hardware. Thats the time to do it.

question no one has asked, how much did all this cost u?
