Good question mestapho2000. All the parts was around $900. I bought everything, shocks and all. Its alot to some, but if you want it right its the way to go. I had this done in 2004, so I would bet that the price has come down some anyway. Im gonna keep this truck, so it was a good investment for me because I wanted the lowered look and improved handling without messing up the ride.
I decided to pull the trigger on a complete kit for my 69 250 CS from firebird industrial supply " e bay "
this is Chassis tech , Air baggit ,etc etc I recognized there customer support number they answer within 3 min everytime friendly seems like there trying hard to correct the past ..... Any how I am doing my research I mic all the critical areas making sure there the same as my stock beams I have 7/8 king pins on my 69 250 so the 65-69 F100 /150 kit will work even tho a 150 didn't come out till 75. Anyway doing my research my the 250 didn't start using 1 1/16 king pins till around 71/73 65-70 very common for 250 to only have 7/8 king pins although a few years ago DJM said no we don't make a kit for a 250 ? I asked them if they can make me one they said no it takes too much re tooling ?? F 100/250 used the same king pin in 69 ??? At the time I didn't know that but I think they should had since there selling the beams .
Anyway my main question is the tie rod relocator yes ...... I have the angled bracket drum style I seen them all DJM barrel style angled , and straight aim style how can I make that POS better ? Weld it on ?
Use a tapered washer in the upper section were the bracket bolts on to my spindle ? The instructions show me drilling a hole in my spindle arm to secure the bracket from moving around . At this point I'm thinking about trying to find a set of used spindles as spares if I ever want to go back stock and welding that tie rod relocator on this way no flop no slop ... Any pics of it installed or tips be a great help here's the kit I bought ....
it comes with a drop front spring as well Here's the drill a hole part
