Medium "Difficulty": Front - CV subframe swap for the front. Rear - One of the methods stated above for the rear or an MN12 (Cougar/T-bird) IRS subframe swap.

Very Involved: Mustang II-style IFS for the front (Heidt's, Fatman Fab, etc.) and a three-link, four-link, or ladder bar rear suspension conversion.

Mix n match at your discretion.
I think im going this route first.......any drawbacks?

Measure pinion angle prior to suspension mods.

also, if you're removing rear leafs you will reduce your load capacity. May not matter if you no longer use it as a truck.

2x... a full flip is easier to do on a shortbed than a longbed with a two-piece driveshaft. I did it on my 70 and resulted with 10° of nose up angle... ended up doing an axle flip instead. A shortbed will end up with 4°-6° of nose up which can easily corrected with shims.

I havent been on here much as of late, but I see this thread is still going. LOL.

If you ever plan on putting your truck back to original, go with the AIM/DJM setup. If you dont give a rats a$$ about putting it back if you ever need to, do the other mods. My truck is still going with this setup going on 11 years now and no problems. To each their own.

^ I was following along for awhile on the whole AIM DJM debate and problem fitment thread. If I reminder right a fellow member tried the AIM beams and had one problem after another with kingpins and fitment or something like that went back n forth with the company trying new beams and he ended up going to the AIM facility and meeting with the big wigs and found out there jig was way off. Therefore making the beams junk. I think the owner wasn't to worried about fixing it right away. Anyone else recall this?

Yep.. I recall that... most if it. I don't recall the part about the owner not being too worried.

Maybe it's posted earlier in this thread? I'm stuck at work and can't like really look it up at this time...I'm on a mental break and FTEing it with you guys for a bit...

FTE is my "mental floss".

^ that would be the thread. I thought there was some kind of dispute over making them right. Just didn't turn out even after a good set of stock ones was taken in to help produce good ones.

I also said they must have changed something because I had/have zero problems with my AIM setup. Again, I bought mine back in 2004 so maybe they did change something, although I dont know why they did.
