I just installed a Qwik Valve oil drain valve on my engine.

I got the F-111N which has the hose nipple and the optional Corbin clamp to lock it closed.

I used a rubber teat for capping off vacuum connections just to keep the nipple clean, and it'll let me know if the valve leaks by as the nipple will fill up and I'll have a cap-full when I remove it.

Eyeballing the nipple extending off that valve, I suspect I'll rip out my steering gear before whatever can take out the drain valve. I suspect that's because of the Quigley 4x4 modifications.

The valve uses a fiber washer as a gasket.

Rich:

I saw the advertisement for the book, thank you, yepper I'd enjoy reading it.
May I suggest that you just leave it in your truck for the next time we have a GTG.
I wasn't planning on buying a copy as I figured I'd have ordered the differential before the book ever arrived.

Yes, I have been reading their's and others tech info, thanks for the heads up.

Long ago when I was first researching tire upgrades for my van, I had stumbled upon a few Calculators, that's were I got the ratios from in my earlier posts.

As for differentials of interest to-date.

ARB wrote back today and said they only have a locker (RD36) for the front Dana 60, and nothing for a the rear Dana 70U on my van.

I haven't heard back from Richmond Gear about their Powertrax differentials for my 'unlisted application.'
Their No-Slip will fit up to a Dana 60 Front Axle.
Their Lock-Right will fit up to a Dana 70.

The more I read about the Lock-Right it seems intended for pure off-highway use

Good evening guys.

Dave,
The statement "towing applications, and even United Nation vehicles in rugged terrain" sold me. But I still like the selectable locker, have you checked the elocker? or how about the OX locker? Of course the decision is yours, but I just wanted to through out these options.

Rich, yes I have been checking out the others.

Since I got the email back from ARB's "Sales Manager; Canada and Northeast USA" saying ARB didn't offer any lockers for the 70U, I Googled 70U locker and discovered that ARB lists them.

http://www.arbusa.com/uploads/PDF/ne...dvice/0-00.pdf

I am still confused as to what axle spline count I have, I don't know if the spline count changed over the years or if what I have read has been misinformed forum comments.

At this moment I'm leaning toward ARB's front and rear with Yukon ring & pinion should the fit.

I'm not ready to trouble Randy's Ring & Pinion with an email. That'll wait for when I get back from vacation and have another paycheck to put money where my mouth is.

I looking at another $1500 per axle in material for this mod.

I came upon an interesting tidbit.

Supposedly all versions of the Dana 70 axle have the same cover.

Supposedly the Dana 60 & 70 axles are outwardly the same and thus take the same cover, again could be a misinformed post or typo.

ARB only shows their differential cover as fitting a Dana 50 & 60 but not a Dana 70.
