oh yeah!!! I spent all day in Boston doing a tour of numerous firehouses, and one of the stations (engine 33, ladder 15) is about a half mile from the stadium
Afternoon all. I was working on the Jeep again. Permanently welded in the front leaf spring perches. Tightened up all the U bolts. While preping for paint, one U bolt broke. The dog jumped up and ran. I had my back to the Jeep when this happened. The U bolt that broke is one I heated and smashed the U area. Let that be a lesson to me, no more heating U bolts. I had a spare for this replacement, installed it. Continued prepping for paint. Primer on front, two coats of black on top of it. Primer on rear, ran out of black....... Decided to take a break and have some lunch. Grilled cheese and garden tomatoes.
LOL i only help people on the side of the road if they are driving a ford lol
I love working on old trucks i find it to be fun.
At least we can agree on that, working on old vehicles is fun. I'm going to res-erect my 65 Olds 442 this winter.
As for the new stuff, well, I nearly died when I figured out the wire harness is built into the valve cover gasket in the 97 F350 turbo diesel. I still shake my head.

i helped restore a '72 442, and the guy wanted us to put all of the W-30 package goodies on it. he also had us put the biggest cam we could while still keeping decent vacuum, because he was elder and didnt have much leg strength to operate the brakes with a big cam. he told us to "pick a color". we did the original W-30 scheme of dark metallic green and cream white stripes starting at the hood scoops. im a FORD guy, but i fell in love with that car when we were done. they are nice for sure.
what do you plan on doing with the jeep when you are done? i know you have lockers and horsepower among other goodies, but is it going to be a trailer queen for shows or a mud monster?
i worked on my bike after picking a bushel of raspberries. it may be driving this weekend. i have said that before though....
