Sa-weeeet.

The guy just accepted my offer of $20 shipped on the Mustang horn pad from eBay.

Gotta finish cleaning up the spokes on the wheel now.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot: I scored an old school Hurst T handle for the shifter today too. I'm going to heat up the shift lever with a torch, straighten it out, cut and thread it, and screw the T handle on.

That was one of fords dumber ideas, mounting the horn control on the turn signal stalk in the early foxbody mustangs. Nice wheel though.

Stosh, I do not think that center pad will work on your wheel. I am pretty sure that I have an extra center here that I got out of a mustang the other day. The wires for the horn are on the wheel center. PM me.

You are correct about 79 being the first year foxbody. I got one last year with a 302 with 60,000 original miles. It has light front end damage so I got it for 100 bucks.

Congrats on being a stickie author.

I'm hoping it does work, but I cannot tell because I can't see the back. I'll make it work some how.

I have another one here that is correct for a sport wheel, but it is cracked a little on the front.

The one I need has a metal "C" clip that holds it on, not the one with the three plastic tabs.

Which type is the spare that you have?

As stated, the horn is actually on a stem not the wheel.

Thats the same center cap that was on the sport wheel in the 1979 Mercury Capri I used to have.

Was busy packing up and shipping stuff today and didn't have too much time to work on the Rat Rod, but I did get a chance to install the steering wheel and the XLS bezels that Mark (mds47588) <!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: postbit_onlinestatus --> got for me a while back.

I think it's going to look real good once I paint all of the interior black (or find black trim panels). Now all I need is the horn pad that first today (unknown real name - he didn't post it in the mug shots sticky) is going to send me tomorrow.

I'm stoked about having the XLS bezels. I have never seen them in person until today. Very unique to say the least. Considering the truck is not so much a Rat Rod, I'm thinking about changing it's name.

How about Goth Rod? It'll be all black and crankin' some heavy tunes.....

Anyway, here is an updated pic:

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I found this on Craigslist the other day and was thinking about putting one in.

Would be cool no?

$38.00 shipped. I've seen them go for around a hundred bucks, so it sounds like a pretty good deal.

After I posted in mugshots I realized I did not leave my name. It is Kyle.

Are you going to run two radios in your goth rod? I had no problem putting an aftermarket radio in my xls bezel since it was already cut. I also painted my steering wheel with cruise to match the xls dash. I am thinking about painting the wood grain panels on my door to match also. What do you think about putting some type of pinstripe or decal on them to not look so plain? Kinda like a tattoo by the window crank.

I really don't want to cut up the bezels either. I have a couple sets of Burlewood bezels and I'm going to try airbrushing some silver paint on them to mimmick the XLS bezels.

One nice thing about them is: they don't have A/C ducts and they are already setup for a DIN radio. If it doesn't work out like planned, I will reluctantly cut the original XLS bezel for my Alpine head unit.

Pinstriping would look smokin' on the Rosewood door panels. If the truck is flat black and the interior is black as well, red and white old school pinstriping would look awesome IMO.
