Yep, there are about 4 grade 8 bolts to each side of the "C" and it's made from 1/4" steel plate and tube. I'll put a couple bolts in to line it up and then I'll weld them in when I get a new frame.
I'm just using the one I have for mock up. It's a little extra work doing it twice, but I can work on boxing the other frame while tinkering with the one I have.
Well, not both. Just the driver's side. The passenger side is sitting on blocks right now.
I went back today and grabbed the radius arms and the hubs/rotors off of the 92 Nite Edition that I grabbed the dream beams from last week. It was really humid and nasty today so I did not get a chance to grab the rear "C" notch kit today.
I stopped at the auto parts store on the way home for some Moog Poly radius arm bushings. I figured they were all the same so I bought a set for a 92 F150. Wrong! When I went to install them, I could not get them on right. After some internet searching, I discovered that 80-86 are different. I went back to exchange them, and sure enough they did not have them in stock. They are getting them from another store for me tomorrow.
I couldn't wait to see how the beams would look, so I rigged up one side and bolted the wheel on. I netted a total nearly 5" from where I was before! The front tires are too big (265/70R15's) and after some caculations I'm probably going to run a 205/75R15. It will give me an inch more tire clearance at the fender and lower the truck another inch.
From the looks of it, I can probably go even lower. The adjustable camber bushings are cranked all the way out, and the top of the tire needs to come in at the top quite a bit. I may leave it as is, or cut another 1/2 a coil out and see what that does.
All in all, I'm liking the truck a lot better with it's new attitude.
BTW after several iterations of the name it struck me today what I should call it:
Project "Iron Maiden"
Here is a before and after pic of the front suspension drop:
And: Yes I know my bed is all caddywhompus. The supports are pretty much gone from the driver's side back corner causing it to sag quite a bit.
why? at the moment its a peice of junk.....
but once i get the seat reupolstered, the amp i got in the garage put it, a paintjob, the speedo fixed, the gas gauge fixed, the AC fixed, the heater fixed, get a rebuilt motor dropped in, make the diff limited slip, redo the wooden bed, fix the hole in the floor, fix the oil leak, and it will be a fine peice of machinery!!!!!
Is that all you gotta do, I thought my truck rough shape. Hey did Stosh spell check "manufacture"? BTW Stosh I might of missed it earlier in the post but tonight Im onto axles, what do you got on the rear of that beast. And how's the steering in that pig since you dropped the front.
If this is to be dubbed project iron maiden, I wanna see an album cover airbrushed onto the hood. I vote for Number of the Beast!
I'm toying with the idea of having my friend cut out their logo in 1/4" thick stainless steel on a water jet and then putting the letters on the front of the hood like F-O-R-D did in 1980.
Then maybe do F666 on the sides of the two front fenders.

I love this idea! Subtle and funny. People would have to really pay attention to notice your customizations. Awesome.
