I'm toying with the idea of having my friend cut out their logo in 1/4" thick stainless steel on a water jet and then putting the letters on the front of the hood like F-O-R-D did in 1980.
Then maybe do F666 on the sides of the two front fenders.
Well, I could not resist the temptation to get rid of the steelies and throw these 92-96 OEM aluminum wheels on. The price was just too good to pass up: $17 each.
I also scored a like new pair of Continental Touring AS 275/60R15's for $12 each. I put both of them on one side of the truck to see how it would look with fatties all the way around.
They are a little wide for the front and will rub the fender, so I'm going to buy a new pair of 225/70R15 Continentals to match. They are the same OD but about 2" narrower and should fit perfectly.
They look way better than the steelies and are a LOT lighter. The lightness of the wheel/tire combo will help tremendously with acceleration, braking and fuel mileage.
Once again, here is an updated pic with the new wheels on. Me likey.
I stared at the rear axle pretty hard today in an attempt to figure out what I'm going to do about dropping the rear. The "C" notch kit that I found on the Nite Edition truck is still there, but I'm not really liking the design of it. I think I'm going to need more clearance by the looks of it.
I was going to flip the axle on top of the springs, but now I"m not so sure. They make a front hanger that relocates the pivot point up a couple inches. Maybe I'll try that first and see how low it goes.
I really like the "new" rims. I'm not sure how much I like the lowered look, but I'll wait to see the finished product. Are you still thinking of going seamless between the bed and the cab?

Yep, but not sure how easy it's going to be to pull it off.
Right now I'm searching for a good frame. Mine is toast and I can't go too much further with what I have.
If I box the frame and add a couple of tubular cross members, I think it may be doable.
