Don't feel bad, I call the 6.0 and the 6.4 our little red headed step brothers.
thats funny.....because what i call the 6.0 and 6.4 im now allowed to say in here lol. i may get flamed out of this forum for saying this, but its my opinion.......when ford had to switch to the smaller engine in order to meet emissions requirements i think they should have just made the 6.0 an inline 6. cummins had already met the 2011 emissions requirements back somewhere around 04 or 05 and there was no reason why international couldnt have done the same thing. the 6.0 couldnt even meet the 2008 requirements and brought about the 6.4. too many engine changes and too many reliability issues and ford will lose the top truck spot to dodge before too long.

I don't think I could stand to ride around in a truck that sounds like the Dodge trucks sound around here. I think a inline 6 would sound the same way. I will keep my 7.3 as long as I can. I hope the 6.7 will be a different story.

i plan on keeping my 7.3 until my truck falls apart around it. but i gotta admit, i love the way a cummins sounds. one of the projects im planning right now is a 52 model f3 with a cummins and a newer style dually bed with about 5" stacks i would have started on it last year but the wife thought it was more important that we get married and spend the money on a wedding/honeymoon.......women......

a 12v cummins is the best sounding diesel ever made
ive always thought that 12 valve cummins sound just like their big brothers [semis] and that powerstrokes sound like helicopters and the old chevy 6.2 straight piped sounds like a big block chevy gasser
Nuthin sounds like a string of SD45 locomotives. They were V20 two strokes. 20 bangs out the exhaust every rotation of the shaft.
Now they mostly run GEs around here. 4 stroke V16s. Just not the same sound. When I hear one of the old SD45s that occasionally goes by I sure notice the sound.
How can you have a nasty side if you own a 7.3. Don't feel bad, I call the 6.0 and the 6.4 our little red headed step brothers.
Don't you mean the 6.0 and 6.4 are our step SISTERS!! Sissy little engines! Seem to be always crying like a girl. The gold coolant just keeps weeping out.
