Lisa sorry about the drama day. I hate it when someone innocent gets hurt because of idiots. I too am glad you made the choice to stand down and not get baited in.
Cris those nerve blocks seem like insanity but not as much as the pain you are having now. And I thought I was the only one who kept my mother in a galaxy far far away? I totally washed my hands of her.
Jim- Things get better! JL is going to be fine. You are doing a great job. But I will have to teach her how to throw a boomerang.
I couldnt live in a place where there is shootings all the time. I come from a fairly small place (town of 5000 people, and we lived 15ish miles outside of that town on a farm)
Back there there was no shootings, stabbings, that sorta thing. If you had a problem with someone, ya fist fought. Loser bought the beers, and if there was still bad blood ya just stayed away from each other.
If ya wanted to protect your property, a warning shot did quite well, and that was an extreme. Usually it didnt take more then some yelling/chasing and your property was protected. If ya wanted to protect yourself, ya learned how to fight, shut your mouth, or run fast!
When I read some of the stuff that some of you guys post (Tristan!) it just amazes me that there is places like that! Guess Im pretty fortunate in a way, at least till we get our cold weather in the winter haha.
Even a fist fight is no gaurantee. I had a budy that was in an argument in a bowling alley. The other guy punched him and he fell backwards and hit his head. Dead. All over a bowling ball. He was such a nice easy going guy too. What a waste.
I rarely had to fist fight...I was always bigger than most of the kids in school...I dont think I was a bully though.
I never really HAD to alot either. There was plenty of times when I actually tried to be the "robinhood" (so to speak) and stick up for the smaller guy that was getting bullied or whatever.
I was never one to turn away either. I remember this one time I had a guy that was way larger then me, 6'5ish, about 300 lbs, and at the time i was about 6'1 and 210-220.
I did think twice about that one, but once we started, it was alot easier then i had thought haha. Sure couldnt have told me that before we started though!
I did get called out alot though. For one I was decent sized, and for two my mouth seemed (still seems!) to work very well! I never really went looking, but if it found me, I didnt do much to turn it away haha.
Oh the good ol days! (how I wish I would grow outta that too!)
