Howdy, all...

My snowplowing story: most of my family (aunts, uncles, cousins, and my parents) live in a small town close by, so usually when it snows, I bring a tractor in and clear their driveways for them. All told, there are 5 places, plus I tend to clear out in front of the city hall/fire station if someone else in town has'nt gotten it already. My dad had been the city clerk years back and had done that, and I just kept the tradition up.

Well, one time a few years back, after a good sized snow drop, my cousin's new neighbours decided that was'nt fair, because they had to shovel their driveway, so they went to the council and demanded that the city maintence department either plow ALL of the driveways in town or none of them. The council had no idea what they were talking about, since their "maintenance department" consisted of the semi-retired mayor who did some mechanic work on the city's ancient pick-up and kept the fire department's vehicles in running order, and the city clerk who kept the books and shoveled the sidewalk in front of city hall. And the town did'nt even plow the city streets at the time... they contracted with the county and had it done for them.

Not true, raged the neighbours... the city man had a big tractor and showed up every time it snowed to plow their next door neighbour's (my cousin) drive out, and then he went down the road to his neighbour's parent's house, then over to some other place where his neighbour's parents visited pretty frequently, which turned out to be my parent's place. They followed the "city man" and when the selected driveways were plowed out, he'd used the tractor to clear out the city hall and fire station entrances, and then had taken off into the country and parked the city's tractor in a barn! They were livid that the "city man" picked and chose just whose driveways he cleared out, and it was simply not fair to the rest of the townspeople. Something MUST be done about it, or there would be serious reprecussions!

In the end, the council got a good laugh at their expense, the early morning coffee drinkers at the cafe got a reason to give me some ribbing, and the neighbours apparently decided that small-town hospitality was'nt all it was cracked up to be & were gone by the time the spring thaw came.

Serious repercussions? Which were? lol. Sounds pretty scary! Must be MORE complaining.

Hey, come to think of it, I was going to complain too. You haven't been coming by to plow MY driveway...CITY MAN!

SOME people. I have a neighbor with a truck with a nice plow on the front, and he goes and plows folk's driveways when it snows. I don't know him from Adam, and therefore, I don't "expect" him to plow mine either. I'm destined to heave snow around with a shovel, at least until I get a blade on the front of that quad..It falls on MY property, which means It's MY responsibility. What a notion.

I dunno what they meant... but really, the town is kinda small to be doing any serious picketing in.

I had the helicopter fly over, but you'd already shoveled yourself out by then. And for the record, when it comes to the subject of you and plowing, your driveway is not the first thing that comes to mind, really.

Calling me names, Lisa? Now you're just being a blue meanie...

2011 man, 2011....I have to go home Sunday, and I won't be able to make it back for quite a while, several months. But 2011, its a done deal.

Gee thanks I appreciate that. If a foot and a half of snow in a 200' long driveway isn't enough.

And I resent you thinking I'd actually trip someone! I am a woman, I don't have to touch anyone to hurt them. I just need a few poignant sentences to get the job done.

And..wow...and, wow.

wow. haha.

Fall for me? You must mean FALL in the way Tom explained. But in the event you meant the other fall, you are asking for trouble. I am a GIANT pain in the ***...and kinda proud of it too.

tom,
get a hold of gateway and get the disc for your machine. call e-machines 20$ they will send you a disc for your pc. i have a e-machines w3400 pc. w/windows XP. you have to give them the serial# off of your PC and they will send you the disc for that PC. its a bundled disc. with all the drivers and whatnot. if you have a disc for your laptop it may work or it maynot.what i got out of e-machines is there all programmed different.
or talk to sean[sglaine] is pretty smart guy. i'll bet if you asked real nice he might help ya out or give some insight on your plite.
