Part VI
Supposed to start sleeting here on Wednesday turning to snoe Thursday. We shall see.
Got the snowmobile running and cleaned up last night. I am ready for snow. Now I just need a new battery for the other sled and then get that one running. Never even used that one last year.
I dont know my dad didnt exactly remember what ford told him what was wrong.
hehehe.
been there done that Pete.
we had one really nasty sob a few years ago. he would park in the road instead of in his driveway, and wait till after the plows were done cleaning the streets before he would take all the snow from his driveway and put it in the street, then put his cars in the driveway and call police headquarters complaining.
on the direct orders of the director of DPW and the chief of police, on the next snow storm we took all the snow from the street and buried his cars parked on the road, and what was left over was stacked in his driveway.
all his neighbors were out there cheering us on. when he called the police on us, there was no area cars to respond due to everyone being out on other calls.
it took the town 3 days before they could get a front end loader over to clean out his driveway and unbury his cars, and then they put all the snow and ice on his front yard.
he went so far as to complaining at the next town council meeting, with both the police and dpw swearing that they personally went out of their way to spend 6 hours at town expense cleaning out this guys driveway.
the guy got the message, and left the plow operators alone after that.
another one was mad because we would turn around in his driveway instead of backing all the way down the dead end street he lived on. he was the only house on a 300 foot long street. we would plow the whole street, 50 feet past his driveway, then back into his drive to turn around. one night he came out screaming not to use his drive as a u-turn. we all blew him off, so he got pissed and decided to "hold" one of the plow trucks while his wife called the cops.
when the area car showed up, he was still holding onto the tailgate, street surfing behind the plow truck 1/2 mile from home.
he got arrested, we all got complaints of assault signed against us by him and his wife. when it went to court, all charges against us were dropped, he was found guilty of creating a public nuisance, and we all refused to plow his street ever again with the town's backing. he had to pay to have his street and drive plowed for 12 years until the new development opened up past his house.
we are all old familys in town, known to almost everyone in town hall. newcomers to town don't mess with us and get away with it.

Actually, that's probably one of the many reasons why you get along with so many guys, and especially us truck guys; no time for BS. I'll speak for myself, but I'm sure many others will agree; that's just awesome.
PBR comes to B'more on Jan. 2 & 3... guess where I'll be? Oh heck yeah, you know it!!

The rodeo is a lot of fun. I'm sad I'll miss the stock show again this year. Been a few years since I've been able to go. Brendan...January 2011, we're going to the stock show together. Stock show or bust!
one time around 15 years ago i was checking on the crews and saw the 67 F650 stuffed into a snow bank on the side of the road.
i got over to the truck, and looked in to see the driver on the passenger floor "sleeping".
he hit a manhole on a new section of road so hard, it put the fan through the radiator, and knocked the driver into the steering wheel, reversing it and breaking 5 ribs knocking him out.
after that incident, we started using the two truck minimum teams.
