good morning all! I'll have some pics up of the Eastern State Penitentiary later today hopefully. That place was awesome. It'd be INCREDIBLE to have a paintball war in there. And I tell you what... prisoners now should be in a place like that. TINY cells.
Jim - nice ride! I love to drive the truck, but it's nice to have a little scoot for city parking. My buddy is borrowing my 96 Passat right now while his car is in the shop. To replace the alternator on an S500 you have to drain & remove the radiator... oh yeah! good luck on the job interview!
Lisa - glad to hear you're feeling better
Ed - congrats to Haylee!! Nice ride for her too! Mine was a 1972 Ford Country Squire station wagon with a 400 under the hood. What a TANK that was!! Ours was red with a black interior.
Good morning everyone.
Lisa, glad you are finally on the mend.
Brendan, there are a lot of cars these days that require the removal of of the front end just to get at basic stuff.
We just did the same job on a 2003 Passat 30v V6. Alternator and leaking water pump. I'll take some pictures next time around.
It sounds worse than it is, they make them modular these days, pretty easy to remove everything and get at it.
.
My first car was a beater 1962 Rambler Cross Country station wagon. It wasn't the tank that a Ford wagon is. Engine siezed up a year later due to no oil pressure, even though the sump was full.
.
And you fathers with teenage daughters, congrats. Been there done that with ours.
Good Steve how are you?? You are so quiet these days.

What kind of question is that? That girl is after that truck.

we are supposed to get 2 monster storms hit us starting around noon today, and stay till sometime Tuesday.
Yeah it rained all night last night, still soggy out there and surprisingly cold. Supposed to get back up into the 60's for the weekend though which will be nice, I'll be bachelorettin it this weekend so maybe I can get some stuff done...
Dan - I'm not surprised to hear that, given how compact & complex they've become. My 96 Passat took 15 minutes to get the alternator out. I like that.
Since I still haven't started working yet I was going to do it for him but he wanted to take it to the shop. I think a good rebuild would have been best (and save $300!!) but hey, it's his bank account. It is cold & crappy out today, so a part of me is glad too!!
