I do not even have time to read this entire thread up to date. Suffice it to say that I am glad Mark is on the mend. I have been busy trying to fix my desktop. It is toast. CPU fan failed and chip is toast. I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to address this without losing my data. I just spent some PMS money on Tigerdirect to rejuvinate my setup. I hope it works because I hate this Vista laptop. Did I mention I hate this Vista system? XP fan for now.

Tiger Direct? Ouch! They are high, should have went to Pricewatch.com... Much cheaper. I have an older Compaq that I would have sent you.

This should not be a surprise to anyone here. I posted my problem before. Compaq is garbage in my book, but thanks for the offer Scott. I hate proprietary chit, and that is Compaq/HP. One and the same, trash, just like the laptop I am using now. Good datalogger for AE, but hobbled from there forward. I guess I can be happy I'm posting with it but I do not like it.

I can't stand Vista.
I got a great deal on an open box laptop for my wife last year at Staples. It came with Vista.
I had a buddy wipe it and install XP on it for me.
I can't stand Vista.
Mark, I really hope your road to recovery is smooth and as pain/discomfort free as possible bud. Its amazing what you're enduring bud.

Barry, thanks for the update on Mark. Great to read that Reece is coming along fine. What a blessing she is to your family.
Mark, sounds like you will be outside enjoying the spring weather soon. Keep doing what the Docs and nurses say and you will be fine. I have been to novelty shops that have round spongy things that you could squeeze........
Mike, I have purchased 2 computers, a couple monitors and a TV from Tiger Direct and have been happy with most of them. One computer quit working 3 minutes after I turned it on but I had a replacement the next day and it is doing great. Can't say much for Vista but am getting used to it. Will probably say the same thing about the next new operating system.
