When I first meet you dad at my house, he laughed at the way my truck sounded and said that was way to loud for an old man. 2 months later he called to ask what size I had and within a week he posted that he had installed a 4 inch stainless steel system without a muffler and how sweet it sounded now. That made me chuckle a little just remembering his comments about my loud *** truck.
I alway accused him of driving with an egg under the fuel pedal because he could get more miles out of a gallon of fuel than most of us could two gallons. He loved his truck and I never saw it dirty until the day I visited him, but it was still a lot cleaner than mine. He will surely be missed here and I hope you will stop in from time to time to let us know how you guys are doing. After all, you're Marks family so that make you our family.
My prays and thoughts go out to you Mark, and family! And Samantha your dad is not alone, I told my wife, if something ever happens to me, Please let my friends here on FTE know just how close they are to me! And welcome to FTE, and for sharing your thoughts with us! God bless you and your family and friends..Great man he will always be!!
Hi Samantha, I realy do not know what to say to you other than your dad will be sorely missed in our circle of friends and friends be the Family FTE. I do wish that I was in shape to travel to Buffalo. If so, I would be at "His" party.
Welcome to the "Family." If you need anything just give us a shout.
Wow, as I sit here all teary eyed and can barely see the keyboard to type, I just now found this thread and I have been on an emotional roller coaster from beginning to end.
I wish I would have found it sooner. I didn't even know he was ill.
It is comforting to know that he went peacefully and is no longer suffering. He is up in heaven where he will be watching over his children and probably may of us too.
[quote=spilote;7196198]I love you dad....we will have a party for him, that's how he would want it![/quote
We did the same thing after my fathers funeral. Sounds just like my father was, he lived hard and fast.
Since I know I cannot make it, I will dedicate this next beer in memory of Mark. A final toast to you Mark.....

Hey Ya'll,
We too wish it were really Markadeck making this post.
Because the specifics for the memorial service for our dad have not been finalized, we have been slow to post the promised post. My dad has been "on his deathbed" several times over the last few years so we expected him to pull through this as he always has. As previously posted by Pat (Just another truck) and our little sister Samantha, the family has been completely overwhelmed by the responses posted here. It amazes us that you guys have been able to capture who our father was simply by corresponding with him on a website designed to discuss trucks! I did speak with Pat in early January when my dad first went in the hospital, his condition changed daily and we found it difficult to keep our family updated on his condition and to be honest, I simply blew Pat off not knowing just how important you all were to our dad. We have shared this information and site with other family and friends and they too, are amazed at the expressions and outpouring of respect that many of you had for our dad and your friend. It makes us proud to hear him described as a tough Marine, but in reality he was a true softy when it came to his family. We cannot express to you all how after going to his home to collect some of his personal belongings after his passing, it is a simple Fed Ex envelope from the FTE group given to us by his girlfriend that has become one of the most treasured things we brought home with us in his prized truck. The members of this incredible FTE club will never know how much comfort your comments have meant to his family. My brother says he now understands why my dad said "nice knowing you traitor" when he informed him that he was buying a Toyota Tundra! (In the end, he bought a Ford, again).
We are so touched by all of your comments, that we are planning on using some of the comments at the Memorial service.
Again, thanks to you all.
P.S. Smokin'-
Like father, like son. Mark would really appreciate it if you would flash his son in his absence!!
Love Marks kids,
Kristin, Justin, Samantha and their families.

A chip off the old block eh?
Can't say I blame you.
You folks take care and please keep us posted on the services or your wishes so we can send our respects. We all know how trying these times can be. I know I miss Mark already.
I, too, just found this thread, and of course, the terrible news about Mark. Thoughts and prayers for his family. It's kinda comforting to know that some afternoon when you're out in the shop workin' on the truck all alone and you need an extra hand to hold that wrench that you just cant quite reach....... maybe, just maybe, Mark will be there to give ya a hand! Thanks for your service Marine, we all owe you!
