Well I didnt finish the award show, it got very boring. Just about to call it a night I think...Looks like this week is a break in the weather!! here's hoping for that...
Here's what I really don't get: The state is renowned for its snow, right? Big mountains, 3 of the world's best ski resorts, blah blah...
So why is it that nobody knows how to drive in it here? Seriously! I'm from the East Coast and you get wet heavy snow there, and people there are idiots too. But they get significantly less snow, so I can be a bit more forgiving. I have driven across a good portion of the country and log about 30 - 40,000 miles annually, so I drive alot, and have seen alot of driving.
It took me almost 45minutes to go 6miles from home to work. 6 cars off the side of the side, 2 other cars immobilized b/c they smashed in to things, 1 metal streetlight pole DESTROYED. Yep, I don't know what hit it, but the entire length was dented & bent!
I carry a tow strap for 20,000lbs & a heavy chain as well. I thought about helping some people but 1) didn't want to get my truck damage by having someone slide in to me, and 2) thought that perhaps the pain of a towing bill would make them think...
Ok Ok... I'll relax... after all these things called "snow tires" were just released to the market and are hard to get hold of.... and it's so rare for snow to fall in the Rockies....
IDIOTS!!
EDIT: As of 7:30AM Mountain time, there was 4" on the ground.... 24" would be nicer; only trucks would be out
Brendan, you gotta move.....It sounds as if the people and weather are bad for your health....
For real!!! Hey, I'm glad you're on - what's the model# of that Makita Li-Ion 18v Impact gun we were chatting about? Is it the new grey/black one or is it the puke-teal/black Makita standard color scheme?
DO NOT BUY THE GREY ONE!!!! It's the whimpy "homeowner addition" Batteries are junk, gears are weaker..etc..I know because I was talked into one and broke it within a week.
I should be kicking it here all day, Mom in law = babysitter isnt here, again...No problem though, I get to lay on the floor and pay with Kelly and Claire!! Not a bad day at all....
Okey dokey!! I was kinda thinking the grey one was for "posers"... hahahaha!! What I'm looking for is probably just the impact... it's going to be part of my "road kit" so that changing tires on the side of the road etc. I don't have to do it by hand, be much quicker, etc.
What is a "hammer drill" anyway? I've never used one, so I'm clueless, but wonder.
I guess I should clarify that I'm looking for a cordless 1/2" impact wrench, not a driver drill. Looks like the Makita BTW251 is what I'm after... and yes, they are "spendy"...
Hammer action is when you push down on the drill like normal it "hits" back at the concrete. Sounds like a machine gun beating down on the concrete. It only hits down though, not like an impact at all. The impact hits in a circular fashion, not down. Does that make sense? One will NOT do the job of the other.... The drill will not crack lug nuts, but the impact will.....
yep yep, kinda what I was thinking. Like a mini jackhammer inside the drill to help force through things. No need for one of them for me, really. But I'll probably have one one of these days. Hmmmmmm... with the crap economy, I think I'm going to hit the pawn shops... ya never know, right? I did see a nice Winchester 94 in 30-30 but they wanted $500 for it!!
Here's the BTW251 - for nearly $400 I'll be doing my lugs by hand!!
