Is everyone getting along fine with this TV digital transition??
I'm not liking it!! I can't get anything to work!!
I'm cheap and have rabbits ears and old tv's, so had to get a converter box. I was able to get most any station in the area, now I don't get squat!
How's it working for everyone else?

 

So get this.....

I buy a house two years ago for a flip.. I have enought money to pay the mortgage for a year.. I get credit cards to do the repairs with..

The house turns out pretty damn nice.. but, the market dropped out.. So my 100,000 home is now worth 75, then 60, then 50, then 45,000 and who knows now..

after a year.. and juggling bills, a girl comes to me and says " I hear you have a house?" I tell her about it, she ask" will you rent it?" I dont want to be a landlord.. but I am tired of loosing my buttocks..

I take her to the house, and she loves it.. she wants to rent it..I ask her how much.. she says 750.00.. Ths is exactly 75.00 more then the mortgage payment.. I get all the paper work together.. I have a tennet...

The agreement is pretty decent.. If she needs a repair.. she normally calls, I come over and fix it.. The contract says she is responsible for home repairs ( up to 100.00 ) yard maintenance, basic house maintenance and ect..She is not move anyone in.. and she can have her dog.

Well, over the summer she had problems.. the drains were not working. and and outlet was not working..

Then an outlet was not working upstairs..

I went over and snaked the drains.. everything worked well.. a month goes by.. and she has problems again.. back with the snake.. I bust the snake in the pipe..I worked the outlet.. I can not find where in the heck this thing is being fed from

I get ahold of a friend of mine who is a plumber.. He refers me to another guy.. This guy, he is the whipp!!!.. he comes a snake and a camera system.. shoves the camera down.. sees the problem.. sends the snake.. recomends me sending chemical down the drain to kill roots. Meanwhile.. I am working this outlet again..

I come over with a circuit tracer.. I have not a clue where this circuit is being fed from.. she tells me to never mind... she wont be using that room anymore..

3 months latter.. again with a drain problem.. I call the guy up.. he shows up.. the pipe collasped.. apparrently the roots were holding the pipe in place.

( this is working.. as I am typing this.. I am now thinking of using the .40.. I must be calming down some )

The plumber is still a stand up guy.. he gives me a price to pull all of this out that I Cannot deny.. He does it imediately..60' of what ever pipe.. 11+ foot down..

Now I have a 4' high mound of dirt.. 60' long.. of clay..do you know clay doesnt settle that easy.

1 month latter.. still a pile... complaints....

2 mnths latter.. still a pile ( i drive by.. it is getting better ) complaints

3 months latter.. a sink hole ( a what ) she wants to know what I am going to do about it.. ( rememer.. yard maintenance is hers )

Now December comes around.. we have a lot of snow.. and it has been cold.. 1 day, we get a melt.. She comes in and tells me.. " she has a squriell in the attic and two room windows are leaking water in the house" I ask her.. when can I come over? " not tonight I have plans" she says...I say.. let me know when I can come over..

The next day.. the squriel is out the there are no more leaks..I ask her.. had she cleaned out the gutters? has she roofed racked the house.. she tells me " i am not going to do that"

She then tells me the gutter is dripping water right at the back porch..
I have a quote.. I am not rushing this..I am still recovering..

Feb 1st rent is due.. since Sept, she hasnt made rent on the first.. she makes it the second week of the month.. I havent really been on her about that ( by the way. there is a whole other story about rent payments and how she was supposed to be taking care of it)..

I dont see her Feb 1st at work.. nor the second.. 3rd..4th.. ect.. come to find out, she has gotten herself on medical leave..

next.. I find out.. she has no intention on paying me.....I call her.. 1 once a day, at 3:30 pm..

On the 11th.. I send a certified letter to her house asking her intentions..SHe has refused to sign receipt..It was taken to her place on the 14th.
I got a text going off about what repairs I need to do around there, and how I have a piece of **** house.. and blah blah blah....

Today.. I went and got a 7 days notice for her get out of the house.. as I am at the court house.. I get a text message.. it appologizes for her attitude.. andshe wants me to call her to work something out..

I inform my wife of this.. we get together tonight and we lay out everything that we are aware of..We call her..

She immeditely informs me that she has already moved out of the house..

she then informs me.. her boy friend ( not on the lease ) stiull lives there...


Do you know I have to evict this SOB.. even thought this #$%^&(*%^$#^&**&^%^%%&*())C has no right to be in my house ( okay the soothing factor of typing this out just went away )..

so.. thats my day..

That sucks Adam.... I think a lot of people are having the same problems. I have cable on every tv so I've had no troubles, so far.

 

might have to purchase a roof top antenna...

 

landlords most always get bunked in the butt and have to exhaust everything in order to save their property. Sorry you went through that. Life just sucks sometimes.

 

I hope you are wrong..but I fear you are not...
